The restaurant opened in April of 1993 in Brookline, by the owners Ludmila and Natan Slezinger. In 2005 they found a new home for the restaurant in Newton Center. The restaurant has ample space for events and parties, and the staff is wonderful. It's not a fancy place, but that's part of its charm. The prices are very reasonable, and the food is always fresh—just like Grandma would make! Come on in and enjoy a taste of home. My fiancé and I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant last night! Despite a party happening in another room, the staff was attentive and accommodating. We began our meal with the meat cabbage Pirozhok, which we enjoyed so much that they disappeared in no time. For our main courses, we ordered the Pozharski Cutlet and Beef Stroganoff, both of which were hearty and incredibly delicious. To top it all off, we tried their infused vodka—Jalapeño Honey and Cranberry—and it was a delightful surprise. We are definitely planning to return!

Great ambiance, tasty food, and a peaceful Friday lunch—what more could you ask for? Just a tip: if you want to dine in on a busy Friday, either come during a quieter time or make a dinner reservation a week in advance. They definitely need more chefs!
