"Staff are lovely but service is slow. Starters were excellent but mains ranged from acceptable to poor. Chips were hard and undercooked, very lazy salad handful of rocket salad from a bag no dressing or any other garnish. Small and over cooked burger. Considering the price and the hotel 4 star rating I’m not sure the Beechill Gastro pub is worth a second visit. Overall an expensive and disappointing night."

We were 13 to Dinner on Friday night, an evening out with friends which we’ve had at the BeechHill previous years. No one took charge of our group on arrival with menus. There was no set menu and the menus were just photocopies, We like to sit in the drawing room , order our meals then go into the restaurant when it’s ready but on Friday we went into the restaurant and it took a long time to take the orders. Food in general was just ok. The turkey was dry and the Christmas pudding cold. We had to ask for extra gravy and no cranberry sauce until requested. My wife and I attended my works dinner dance on Saturday 8th December. The event was held in a permanent marquee adjacent to the main building but don’t let the idea of a marquee put you off as this place is fully heated has its own bar and toilets and I’d beautifully decorated to a very high standard and to be honest once inside you would never know you were inside a marquee. The food was excellent and service was really efficient I think I counted about 140 people all seated at the same time. This is the second year in succession my company has used this venue and I hope they continue to do so for years to come. I have no complaints what so ever and would highly recommend this venue.
We stayed at the hotel for three nights. Wonderful. We ate at the restaurant that was supposed to be “ cuisine “. It turned out to be pub style both upstairs and in the downstairs “ pub”. Exact same menu. Burgers fish and chips. Nothing more and poor quality and flavors. Disappointed to say the least. Tried a second time and nothing to order any better a second night so the menu doesn’t change. Ok for a quick plain meal but defiantly no where near fine dining.
We are locals to the Beechill Hotel. In recent months, following the change of ownership, the hotel and cuisine has generally gone down hill. Service in the bar areas is practically non-existent, with the food in the bistro bar being anything from 'just ok ' to awful. It is such a shame. Many locals have now decided to give the Beechill a miss over recent months. Let 's hope the management can turn things out in respect of general service and food quality.
