This small restaurant has so many good things going for it but it just needs a little bit of tweaking to become excellent. The food is imaginative and so good for us as vegetarians. The vegetable assiette was full of fresh produce and would have...been perfect with more salt, more garlic and perhaps a fried egg on top. The courgette tart was absolutely delicious and a perfect meal. The server was on her own so there was a long wait for food but she worked as fast and as hard as she could as the place was full both inside and out. We tried but it was just not for us. We were happy to try it as it is proud of using local products. The menu is not of wide selection, especially not for vegetarians (no main dish which is vegetarian). There's no Menu, only Carte....Anyways, the waiter (who was nice but didn't know English) recommended the Herbs Soup. We ordered it, and also pumpkin soup and some sort of Lasagna. The soups were not tasty. It seemed like no (or very little) spices were used, maybe in order to allow the flavors of the products to be in the center. But it did not work for us. we ate here in the evening at the beginning september and sat outside, not in sight, but pleasant little next street, only from the main square of the city. large food prepared from fresh local and mainly organic ingredients, local wine. not fussy just great. quality fresh local ingredients cooked by an excellent cook. great value for money, we were paid in a 14-night holiday and much more for low quality meals. beautiful personal and great service. I asked for a cappuccino and was told that they did not, but when my men came coffee, they also brought me a cappuccino, a really good one. not often find them so service in these days.
We discovered this restaurant on one of the streets of Barcelonnette by a board that stated ´fait maison'. After passing by the many pizzerias is this small town finding this small home-style restaurant was a delight. They use local products and the food was absolutely...delicious. The boudin noir with the side of polenta and vegetables was excellent, as well as the fig tart and chocolate souffle, both amazing! The chef and the gentleman serving were very warm and welcoming. In fact we were so happy with the food and service that we went again for lunch the next day. I highly recommend it!

We weren't dissuaded by the reviews of slow service. Yes, the service is slow because there is only the chef and server but the dinners were delicious and we enjoyed the ambiance and conversations with the other diners. We dined there our last two nights,...yes two nights in a row. I suggest starting the meal with their Italian salad.
a great place where all ingredients are prepared by a f r iendly cook. we loved the friendliness and efficiency of the young. Despite the heat and the amount they were great. food is excellent
easy to miss in a small next street, but try to find this place. simple and unpretentious with very friendly service. great food, good value. would definitely return.
all homemade. our young children loved their meals and so we have the parents. we also appreciate the relaxed atmosphere and the friendly service. on s’est régalé!
