Disappointed as had heard good things by friends that had visited this place years ago. Food was not good (stuffed eggplant main was undercooked, flavourless and cold and hard in the centre) and not good value (a poorly cooked aubergine cost almost the same as dishes that contain meat and came with no rice £13 for a badly cooked vegetable). Other meat based dishes my friends ordered were also similarly bland. Dessert wise the fudge cake was hard and drying out like it had been microwaved for too long or was old. Atmosphere wise, it was a bit dark, dingy and dated which can be overlooked if the food is great but it isn’t. Several glasses on the table were dirty with lipstick stains. The staff...

We hadn't been to the Armenian Taverna for a few years. There is now some unattractive building work at the street level but once you go down to the restaurant it is as welcoming and atmospheric as we remember. I made particularly good choices of food this time. My borsch was a good warming starter for a cold Saturday evening and the Armenian goulash was excellent more reminiscent of a Lancashire hotpot than a Hungarian goulash but with rice! I really enjoyed my meal. My wife's meal was unremarkable and she was somewhat disappointed. Our meals were quite expensive, coming to £70.50 for two starters, two main courses, two beers and a bottle of sparking water.

Stopped here whilst with family in Manchester, the meal was enjoyable and the service pretty efficient and friendly. It was a random weekday night so was quiet however. It was perhaps a little pricey, but ultimately we knew the prices when ordering so that’s our call. The soups especially were delicious

We had a delicious meal here and the service was very good. Recommend the lamb chops but everything we ate was lovely. Would recommend and will return.
