I came here for my birthday and I was absolutely blown away. The atmosphere was inviting and intimate, the service is top notch, and the food exceeded my expectations. My Fiancé has celiac disease and our server, Jess, was extremely knowledgeable about what was gluten free or not. Jess gave us great suggestions for what to order, we got the the NY Strip Steak and the Montauk Striper-both were phenomenal. The steak was cooked a perfect medium with a delicious crust on the outside- I’ll definitely order this myself next time. I arrived at Smoke for the first time this past Saturday (8/17) with a meet-up group, there were 7 of us. We arrived at 6pm and were quickly seated for dinner. I must say, I never have high expectations for the food in most jazz clubs but, the food at Smoke was exceptionally great! From the hostess who arranged for all of us to sit together to our server who accommodated us with separate checks, the service was fantastic! The jazz show was stellar and the atmosphere of the club just added to the overall great experience. Everyone in my party was happy with the food, club, service, and the entertainment. I chose for a special evening among the most popular jazz bars in New York. I wanted a cofty atmosphere, old school jazz. And this is exactly the place! A small room where you sit near the stage and the sound permeates your whole body! It's magical! Yes, and the dishes were at a very high level. Absolutely reasonable prices. Grilled octopus $19! Incredible place. I wasn't expecting the space, the food or the atmosphere. Top-notch musicians. I definitely recommend coming here. It may be expensive for some, but for the quality of everything, it is worth it. I had the opportunity to see great musicians playing and enjoying jazz. The phenomenal food.
Last week Friday I went with my brother and his family visiting from Mexico; who wanted to see live jazz and we went here. They were very happy about the food, service and live music. They had a great night and I would recommend to everyone
