We ate at Au 17 Bis last year, and we've returned twice since then, and it hasn't changed at all, which is not always a good thing. The menu is limited, and always seems to be exactly the same, they need a few new ideas. It's a pleasant little place, friendly service, and the cooking is of a consistently high standard, just about the best we've found in Piriac-sur-Mer, but please try widening the choice and adding a few new dishes! Over three visits, I've had exactly the same meal each time, not lack of imagination on my part, but the choice was limited, and nothing else appealed. My wife thinks I'm being unfair, at first she was reluctant to eat there again, but she really enjoyed the meal...

Arriving in Piriac we decided to look around before choosing where to eat. The restaurant Au 17 bis was empty even though many of the others were full!. We had eaten there before so decided to go in. We were so pleased we did as we had a superb evening meal.It was their 3 course set meal for 18.95€.My starter of fish terrine was delicious, my husband sardines were tasty too.I had Moules au curry which was fabulously tasty. The mussels were in a green Thai curry flavoured sauce which was amazing!. Hubby had a steak and frites which looked and tasted good with lots of frites. We decided on the 'white stuff'for dessert and it was sooo delicious. It comprised of a berry compote on top of a white...

We really enjoyed eating in this place, a short but interesting and typically French menu, many of the items were either mussels or oysters, and a pleasant quite small half-basement room with very friendly and helpful staff. There are many other places to eat in this quiet little town, so plenty of competition, but Au 17 bis keeps up with the best of them. The standard of cooking is excellent, my soupe du poisson tasted home made, worth commenting on, as far too many French restaurants serve the stuff from a supermarket supplied bottle. The soup was very good, as was everything else we ate, and I enjoyed my “cod surprise”, cod cooked en papillotte with mussels. Always difficult to tell after...

Five of us went on a very sunny Saturday in August. We had eaten in the town before, but never at Au 17 Bis.From the moment we arrived, the staff were great. We found a lovely shaded table and ordered from both the set menus. The food was excellent, beautifully presented and some of the menu choices were unusual and all was really lovely. We had some lovely wine and the waiter even noticed when I dropped my napkin and immediately appeared with a new one.I would really recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the area. Our sailing party came across this restaurant by accident in a side street and what a nice surprise it was. Service was prompt and very friendly and the food faultless. Decor classy. We were neither hurried nor neglected. Top marks to the waiter for looking after us so well. Thanks also to the owner, Patrice, for promptly posting to Ireland the hat which I'd left behind. We've promised to return to eat at this lovely restaurant and also to beat them at football!

We arrived late on a Monday night and was not expecting to find anywhere that would still be serving but stumbled across this little gem!It was past 9:30 but they still welcomed us in. As it was late we did not want anything heavy so we ordered drinks and modules and frites. They were the best modules and frites we have had in a long time and considering we come from Jersey that is high praise indeed. We would definitely recommend at any time!

Small restaurant off main street in town, but once through the door the place is very welcoming with quirky decor. Larger than you at first think with upstairs & outdoor tables also available. Eaten here twice now & both times food of really good quality & exceptionally well presented. A definite cut above the competition. Prices reasonable & set menus good value.

Tucked inside an alley off the main drag this tiny little venue has only a handful of tables inside and out. Very cool vibe. We popped in late in search of pudding and a cocktail and wished we'd gone there for mains and starter too. Lovely. Book a table now
