Arrivés à 13h45, nous avons dû passer 1h1/2 pour deux plats( bonnes salades et bon steak haché enfants). En revanche, ça s'est compliqué ensuite et comme le disait un serveur à un collègue "c'est le bordel ici"! Tous les serveurs nous ont servi, l'un pour prendre la commande, une autre pour servir une partie de la commande, une troisième pour servir la fin de la commande, le tout en oubliant le café... cette "brasserie" ouverte depuis 1996, ne sert pas à manger à 15h ( à nos voisins de table). Vive le France et ses bistrotiers qui profite de l'emplacement de leur établissement . Heureusement qu'il y a un bon cuisinier... mais il y a un bien piètre patron!!!
We have eaten here many times and tend to return as the food is usually ok. The location is good, particularly if there is entertainment in the square. The menu does not tend to change much. A few years ago, this was the place to come for pasta. There is still pasta on the menu but it is disappointing. I think I had the Paysanne tagliatelle a bowl of pasta in cream (no other flavour) and a rasher of extremely crispy bacon on top. Portions have become smaller although deserts are good. The children's menu is not extensive. That said, the quality was reasonable. Service is impersonal but ok. Would rather try somewhere else next time.
The salad I ordered should have contained gesiers, smoked duck foie. There was foie, but only horrible looking bacon lardons. When I asked to complain to le patron, he was so rude and told me I should have mentioned this at the time. I told him I was hoping to find these ingredients amongst the salad leaves as I went along. I said the waiter should have asked if we were happy. I said I would be happy to pay half of my main course, but le patron told me again and again that he couldn 't do that. We left in disgust, disappointed with how we were treated, but paid in full. DO NOT GO HERE.
After a long walk to the Chateau in Saumur, we happened on this lovely place on a Sunday afternoon. Although it was toward the end of their service (14:20), they were quite accommodating and the food was great! Everything was perfectly prepared and nicely paired with fresh green salads and the requisite baguette. Although there are quite a number of tasty options in Saumur, we made a point to return for dinner later in the week and were equally pleased with the ambience, service and great food!!!

Nous arrivons un groupe de six , nous commandons des apéritifs . Jusqu'ici tous va bien ! Ils nous prennent la commande du plat 6 pizzas une attente de 45 minute , nous interpelons la serveuse pour lui demandé ce qui en était elle nous répond qu'ils nous avaient oublié... 30 minutes après les 3 pizzas sur 6 arrivent bien 20 Minutes après les 3 autres arrivent froide et pas assez cuite !!! Personnel non à l'écoute du client . Dessus de cette établissements !!!
Restaurant bien placé au cœur de Saumur, ambiance agréable,rapport qualité/prix un peu chère en comparaison avec d'autres resto voisins.Mais le gros hic a été d'avoir la compagnie d'une souris pendant le repas qui rentrait et sortait des égouts avec en prime le serveur qui nous a pris pour des idiots en rigolant et nous croyant pas.J'ai réussi à la prendre en photo quand elle a failli rentrer dans mon sac à main.
In a nice square in central Saumur, we found Au Bilange. They accommodated our requests for un-French drinks (pineapple lemonade! and the pizza we shared was terrific. This was market day (Saturday in Saumur and was a pleasant place to sit for a rest.
