Au Coin du Pain'tre is quite a busy little cafe where, at lunchtime on a June day there was a small queue of people, some waiting for take away sandwiches and a few others, like us for a table to become free. We were lucky and in only about one or two minute we were shown to a table in the garden that is in front of this nice restaurant. From the menu we ordered a dish of cold meats and cheese which came with a salad and an order of fries, plus a glass of chardonnay. The food was very nice and we especially liked the potato fries which had been cooked in a mixture of herbs. A nice touch I thought. All in all it was an excellent light lunch.
From the way to Giverny to visit, we stopped there with my partner. The restaurant is very nice with a sun terrace and quiet. Super welcoming and funny boss, well-stocked sandwich and very good, simply delicious pies... we recommend!
We found a table while the rest of our family visited the house and gardens. The waitress was welcoming friendly and allowed us to move to a more comfortable spot to await our family. Food was delicious! We stayed for about 3 hours!
They are phenomenal, excellent sandwiches prepared on request, bread is homemade, pies? It's a murder... I'll give you the table 24, it's the best...
