au premier - Table reservation

This was our second time dining at Au Premier. Back in 2018 we had a great experience and now in 2021 they lived up to our expectations. This is an establishment with standing that serves fine dining of great quality. The staff is very friendly and very well mannered. They make you feel welcome and serve you with style. The food is nicely presented and tastes great! For most of the dished you can choose between a normal or smaller portion. We were the only ones in the restaurant when we visited it for the second time. This is really a pity as it is a restaurant that we would recommend to everyone that visits Zug and is in search of dining in style!

We arrived at 7pm and ordered 4 starters and 4 main courses including a Châteaubriand. I had as starter a mushroom soup which was very good. The 40-min waiting time for the Châteaubriand turned to be 90 minutes. We were starving and annoyed. We got the meal right after having complaint and asked for the bill. It was tasty but the relation price/quality wasn't there. There was barely any excuse before we raised our voice. The atmosphere and location are nice but the service is miserable. We will not return again.

Thoughtfully-prepared dishes sourced from local ingredients. It is white asparagus season so that was a highlight. Great wine selection and amazing service. Just bring a great dinner companion as the tempo is traditional, long, and leisurely. I was dining solo so it was a bit awkward for me.

Good wine, exquisite menu, noble service, spacious interior, old town of Zug. Owner of the venue is a very nice chap he entertained us with a small conversation.

The dining is superb with great menu choices of local cuisine. Excellent dining staff and reasonable prices.
