Our first impression was that we had stepped back 40 years. The restaurant is just like restaurants in France used to be when we first started going to France. The room is small, cluttered but has a great ambience. Madam was very friendly and very efficient. The food was traditional, well cooked and delicious. My cousin is still raving about the "tarte au thon" starter, 5 days after the meal. I enjoyed the "salade avec chevre chaud et canard fume". The cod in fish sauce was delicious and I could not resist the traditional ice cream filled profiteroles. Great value at 26 euros for 3 courses. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Au P'tit Matelot.

After reading the reviews on tripadvisor I had this place on top of my list for our 4 day stay in Le Crotoy. I didn't manage to book beforehand but was lucky enough to get a table for two (went at 7 pm) Both of us were pleased with the quality and quantity of the food and the very friendly, personal service. It is like eating in someone's living room, somewhat old fashioned decoration but that makes it so cosy. I would certainly recommend it and if we are in the area again I will book a table this time - all those who had not made a reservation were turned away after our good luck to get in.
We have been to this restaurant many times & have never been disappointed. There are the usual set menus and an a la carte menu, all of which are great value. The house wine is also excellent value for money and the duck breast with red currants is without doubt one of the best duck dishes I have ever eaten! It is a husband and wife run establishment and is small, so can get busy at weekends or holiday times.I hesitate to recommend it too much as I don't want it to get too popular - then we won't get a table!!!!
We love this cosy restaurant and visit during the winter months as its warm atmosphere is a real pick you up on a cold and blustery day. A favourite is their salt marsh lamb dish and the tuna tart which is a starter - delicious. Try the Rhubarb liquour, I've never seen this flavour outside France and it was lovely. Monsieur and Madame treat all customers like family but are discreet at the same time and it's like sitting in a private dining room as it's quite small and therefore feels intimate. Book a table now
Small charming restaurant with excellent good value menu, specializing in seafood but not exclusively. The 19 euro menu, from which we chose moules mariniere to start, rai (skate) with a good selection of fresh vegetables as main and profiteroles with hot chocolate sauce for dessert, was particularly good value. Highly recommended.
A delightful restaurant - small but with a very pleasant atmostsphere and excellent food. The service was friendly and very efficient. seemed to be very popular as people were being turned away a little later in the evening. This was a most enjoyable evening - we would definitely return.
Small restaurant where the owner have everything in their hands, espectially your satisfaction ... All is done to please you. Good choice in Le Crotoy if you want to avoid the touristic places ... Nice atmosphere ... We just loved it ...
Only in Le Crotoy for two nights and chose this small but lovely place. The Sole Meunière was fantastic and the starter cassoulet of prawns and mushroom was fantastic - very welcoming and recommended Book a table now
Really good food and friendly family service. Interesting and very pretty decor, patient and helpful owner. The best in the town for us with our granddaughter.
Not got a sea view but has got loads of charm and serves excellent local food. On a rainy night ticked a lot of boxes for quality of the food and service.
