Looking for a local restaurant whilst on a stay in Alsace we chanced upon this lovely little restaurant, and had a very pleasant surprise to have great smiling service from the waitress, and suggestions for meal choices. The first night two of us chose the Duck in Orange Sauce, which was delicious, the other member chose the kidney dish, also delicious.Having enjoyed the meal we returned the next evening and again experienced good food.This time we had Veal with mushrooms, a special Prawn dish, and Salmon served in a light pastry, dessert was Brulee, done better than most I have had at home in Australia.Could not complain about anything, the service was quick and efficient, and food very goo...
We chose this restaurant in Andlau as it had an attractive choice on the menu, and looked a really pleasant venue.We were the only people in the restaurant (okay, it was mid-week, out of season), and the owner/waitress appeared bored - she interacted with us only to take our order and deliver the food.The starters were fine, but nothing special. My wife had a warm terrine, while I had cheese in filo pastry. Perhaps it shouldn't be an issue, but I was surprised that the accompanying salads were identical.We both had fish for the main course, but it was extremely dry.Oh well, you win some, you lose some!
This is a tiny, couple run gem. The food is expertly prepared and service is excellent and efficient. Fortunately perfect English is spoken. The menu is broad and varied with a delightful mixture of French and German favorites. Particularly welcome were seasonal items included in the salad selections. Portions are generous and the prices are very reasonable
We had the asparagus menu. Everything we had was fine, but you have to judge it in comparison with other restuarants in an area that is very well served by imo better options, hence the lower rating. The restuarant is reasonably well appointed but the courtyard used for outside dining is a bit tatty.I thought it was expensive for what we had.

We almost missed this place having read previous Trip Advisor and cut it off our list. Our hotelier said that several guests had eaten there and thought it was good so tried it. The place has real ambiance, the service could not have been better and the food was superb. We simply cannot understand previous low ratings.
We came here as we'd been walking in the surrounding countryside and were in need of a bit of R&R. The service was great, friendly and efficient. We opted for the fixed menu at lunch and were not disappointed, the portions were colossal! Everything was well cooked and very very tasty.
This is one of several restaurants in Andlau that served a very good meal but unfortunately no longer. The service was indifferent, the meals were relatively tasteless, overcooked and overpriced. The location and decoration are still charming but everything else has gone downhill.
