We enjoyed our meal at Cornet d'or very much. The hostess could not speak any English, but made us very welcome and we managed to communicate with our somewhat basic command of the French language. It could be a bit of a struggle if you visit the restaurant with no French language skills at all! We ordered from the 23 Euro menu- (for two courses if I remember correctly) so not expensive.There is an excellent wine list (a huge book)!, and our aperitif was lovely. The little tart made with a local cheese, as a starter was delicious- simple but with a lovely flavour and excellent pastry. This is a genuine, old-fashioned, beautiful, elegant, uncompromising small French restaurant. The food is traditionally French, traditionally excellent with no dumbing down for the masses. The crockery, silverware and napkins are first class. When my loud American colleague ordered a diet Coke, they put it in a silver bucket so as not to offend the sensibilities of the other diners. The wine list matches War and Peace for length, but the sommelier (who may also be le patron) suggested a wine to match our meal and it was so perfect I wrote down the name of the wine. very beautiful setting, very warm and professional welcome of the boss. really gourmet cuisine, succulent, well-presented and delicious dishes. very good quality/price ratio. very nice wine map and good advice accord mets/vins of the bosses always. frequenting regularly beautiful houses in the area, betting and in the province, and having tried other famous restaurants of dunkerque, bergues and around, the hostel of the golden horn is really to remember absolutely for all those who enjoy the good and beautiful restaurants. address to be consumed without moderation!
as usual ludovic has charmed us with a custom made menu, don't hesitate to book and ask her for her menu "haute couture", to z everything was perfect, the little broth with shrimps, the scarf rave with small pink shrimps, and I don't even talk about the presentation, a dream, apples jacques, perfectly snack in a shrimp mousse, stammers. We arrived on Saturday night at 9:00 after booking. The room was empty...The waiter made us notice our delay very heavy! atmosphere. I, who made me happy to have dinner with the good reputation that this establishment once had, quickly realized that it was only a distant memory. very disappointing at all levels: over-year room, ringard service, dishes not at the height of the paid price. one of those evenings that let you feel like you're being made to have!
A restaurant for tasting the classic French kitchen! Despite some negative reviews, we could not experience these allegations at any time! Just enjoying a little old but cozy frame. The traditional service where the dishes are still served under the cloche is constantly a life on them. It's a shame the court-martials don't belong anymore.
Too bad the welcome is not up to the dishes! the atmosphere is leaded by a warm welcome, despite a pleasant kitchen formerly starred! quality products are well worked, traditional French cuisine! not sure to go back despite a call menu (without dessert) less than 25 €!
Received and served underwear, kitchen-screen quality, criticism of my choice to drink mineral water ipv wine. No question if it tasted enz. Won't be giving negative criticism about that case, where I used to be very praising!
