I one more time try this restaurant as I had trouble last year with allergies . As I couldn’t find anything suitable for me which was not precooked, I chose a piece of beef. Unfortunately it was a piece of nerves and could only eat 20% of it. I told the waiter who told the chef and the owner. No excuse came from the last two, the waiter was not responsible and not to blame. We paid and had a naughty comment from the owner, that was it. In this restaurant the client is nothing , only good to pay what ever happens. If you have allergies avoid to go there. I told my local friends, they will boycott the restaurant.
A fabulous friendly restaurant with superb food. We revisited the Auberge Chevre D’Or after a long 2-3 years gap. We were delighted to find it just as friendly, with efficient service despite the restaurant being fully booked with several large groups) a really inventive menu , all the food beautifully presented, and with plenty of choice, and the standard of the food is even better…. It’s really worth a trip to Cabris to eat here- definitely our favourite restaurant in this area, and we’ll be back! But do book!
Right at the beginning of the town this venue appears to operate a bar/pub-style venue on one side and a bistro on the other. We sat down in the wrong area initially. Set menu was offered for E39 and the meals were very good for that spend. Service was friendly and accommodating of our poor french vocabulary. I would dine here again.
It’s worthwhile to take the time to leave Nice, Cannes or other places on the riviera coast and go to Cabris where you can find a number of nice restaurants of which Auberge le Vieux Chateau is the best. The food, service and location is great.
