I had lunch there during a hike along the scenic Kulturweg (Culture Trail) from Ausserberg to Raron. The restaurant is located in the picturesque village of St. German directly near the church. The restaurant is small but with a warm and cozy atmosphere. Thumbs-up...for the warm welcome by the tenant lady, who was friendly and efficient throughout the entire lunch. Her husband is the Chef de Cuisine; he took the time to come out and greet all the guests, which is always a much appreciated gesture. He even gave me some hiking tips in the area! As starter I opted for sauteed scallops with citrus risotto and asparagus: delicate and full of flavours. As main course I chose the perch fillets with...

Waren zum wildessen da.Zuerst Apero unten im schmucken, urchigen restaurant. (Sehr guter offener johannis)Essen einen stock höher. Klein und fein.Meine wahl war die wilderer platte mit 4 versch. Fleischarten inkl. Wildbeilagen.Speziell gut waren die hagebuttenravioli.Der selber ausgewählte walliser Nebiolo aus saillon war gut aber nicht perfekt.Das essen war sehr gut und wir vergassen darob die zeit...

Die Lage ist in der nähe der Kantonsstrasse und trotzdem leicht erhöht, was eine schöne Aussicht gibt. Das Essen ist von guter Qualität und der Service zuvorkommend und nett. Besonders zu empfehlen ist das Rinderfilet und als Nachspeise das Himbeer-Chillysorbet mit Prosecco. Der Preis liegt im oberen Bereich für die Menge und Qualität und daher 1 Punkt Abzug. A hidden jewel in the neighboring village to Gruyere. Childish staff, delicious food, good portions at a reasonable price in the Swiss context. You also know how to freeze meat “vienna style”, which many restaurants in Romandie are unable to freeze. If quickly full, a reservation is highly recommended.

Wir waren schon ofter hier zu Gast. Unser letzter Besuch war entauschend. die Suppe war mit gruene Spargeln, fuer 15,50 chf haetten Wir mehr erwartet, Jakobsmuschel war sehr gut! Lamrack mit viel fett und viel zu salz? gemuese waren ok. auch mit der Wein hat etwas nicht gestimt
