An unexpected gastronomic delight, a short hike from the campsite. We visited the restaurant on a Tuesday evening in June. The only options were 40, 55 and 60 Euro set menus. Not somewhere for a cheap or quick meal but great for an evening of dining. I had the 60 Euro menu. Not cheap but delicious. Lush caramelised onion on toast, tapenade on a crostini as teasers; tempura courgette flowers; fois gras on a bed of buttery spring greens on proper french puff pastry; rack of lamb with the smoothest mash potato and fresh strawberries nestling on whipped cream puffs on a light biscuit sponge like base with a few rhubarb shards and amber coloured petals for added fragrance. This has been the best meal since our second visit to the south of france, so far almost everywhere else has been a huge disappointment, the french say the British cant cook, but i can honestly say apart from this place every other meal has been poor However this was a delight , from the wonderful winding drive up so high to the wine and desert Superb service in a lovely building and excellent food. What more does anyone want the fact i spent over two hrs here eating says it all , as i normally bolt my food and go. But here we relaxed and enjoyed every mouthful I highly recommend
