We went for a couples dinner on New Years Day. The place was very busy and initially the ambience was as we remembered from a previous visit: warm, lovely feel, great decor and approachable staff. The starters were too large however the assiette de...charcuterie would have comfortably sated two people, and my pigs trotters similarly were ‘main’ portion sized (and somewhat under-seasoned). The main course took minutes to arrive and we had to chase it with (apologetic) staff. The noodles with vegetable stif fry arrived over cooked and without noodles. The restaurant is located on the outskirts of the town and has its own car park. The restaurant has a warm...rustic charm and the friendly staff immediately made you feel welcome. We chose off the A La Carte Menu as well as the set Menu. Both had a great mix of local traditional dishes. The menu changes regularly we were told. Had heard a lot about this restaurant; the best (and most expensive) in Samoens. So we were expecting something a little above the norm... The amuse bouche was some chopped veg with a kind of whipped cream little favour and just not appealing. We...then had the pork and fondue the pork was just some small chops with no sauce of any kind and a very insipid spoonful of 'risotto' that tasted of rice pudding. Small portion. The fondue was OK, nothing more, not much flavour, but portion size OK. At this price level you expect something a bit special, and it just wasn't unfortunately, and it's not cheap, Euros for a small glass of house wine....
Excellent food and service my husband had the cheese fondu and loved it and I had the steak and cooked it myself to my liking the steak was amazing. They do half portraits of pork fish or beef for the kids. The staff are super...friendly Guilliame and his team. We stayed in their apartments for the week too upstairs and the apartments are compact but clean and opposite the grand massif cable cars.

Best restaurant in Samoëns I have frequented this restaurant for many years and have seen the changes made some good some bad) it is now back at it’s best! Fillet of beef at it’s best, poached egg entree to die for compared to other...restaurants worth the walk.
We arrive late and without any reservation, wich is exactly what you shouldn't do at Someone, and they did all the efforts to get a table where we have the pleasure and opportunity to appreciate the dishes menu of the house. Wonderful.
Loved the food and the attentive staff. If you are not a fan of cheese, the scent in the restaurant from the many heated cheese fondues may be a tad off-putting. We love cheese, and it was still a bit much.
Last here years ago apparently it has changed hands but the food continues to be excellent! Family friendly and a lovely wee walk from centre of the village,

One of the best places to eat in Samoens. Great food and amazing service. We eat here at least once each winter and we have never been disappointed.
