We had lunch here on the first Monday of our week in the area, and were made very welcome by Sam. The restaurant was noisy, but in a good way, with a lovely vibe. Sam's English helped our rather rusty French, and the food was excellent. We ended up coming back three times through the week, once for coffee, once for lunch, and once for dinner on our last night. The food is simple, but subtly good; punchy flavours, good portions and all served with Sam's great sense of humour. He is the perfect host - attentive without being pushy - and the place seemed to be visited by many locals which is always a good sign. There was good chat between the tables too. Silly cheap for the quality and quantity...

Lamentably, we only get to experience Sam & Viginee's hospitality once a year. Our dinner this June was, once again, exceptional. Their menu includes old French comfort food items as well as dishes more familiar to North Americans. No matter how adventurous or conservative you are, Virginee will always have prepared something delicious. Sam's English, from working in restaurants in the UK, is excellent. When this is combined with his terrific sense of humour, his knowledge of good food and a nose for great but undiscovered wines, you are in for a real treat. We stumbled upon this restaurant on a sunday afternoon. Well, the owner could not have been more welcoming friendly and helpfull, speaking great english. The kind gentelman suggested we take the veal of the plat du jour menu and it was a great choice. We really enjoyed it, very filling and tasty. We had the chocolate cake for dessert which was delicsious, then coffee all for under 30 euro, tremendous! If riding thru the area, it was a great place to stop for lunch.

This is by far my favorite local restaurant in this area. The owners are very dedicated and you can tell that they love to make people happy, and what a better way, but to feed us. The type of cuisine is local and more of a rustique flair, but it is the most comforting food you can get. The quality of produce is exquisit and after going there a few times already, it has become my point to invite my parents there every few months. Book a table now

After a hot and dusty visit to Cirque de Navacelles we drove our motorhome back a short distance to Blandas. The restaurant had a great set lunch menu - I had poulet en bleu causses and himself had an 'amazing' dish of stuffed sheep feet - well he loved it!! Service was superb, even tho they had a busy lunch service going on. Sam was full of chat and a great host. If you're in the area, book a table!

Our 2nd visit in one week,we were not disappointed.Sam and Vergine were brilliant,the food was so good.It was a friends Birthday and our first drink was free.The dessert came with a magic candle,the lights were dimmed as Sam sang "Happy Birthday" Everyone in the restaurant joined in.Our friend was given a jar of local honey.It was a delightful evening.We will definitely return.Thank you Sam & Virgine

The food was excellent, the service was immaculate, and the atmosphere lively and cosy. After a wonderful walk in the nearby hills looking at plants, the rain came down and wet and cold we arrived, having booked (wise to do this), to receive a very warm and sympathetic welcome - all ten of us!

We were visiting friends in Gornies who took us to this wonderful restaurant.Sam and his wife Vergine gave us a welcoming greeting and we ordered the evening special of Cote de Bouef which was the finest meat we had ever eaten cooked to perfection. Five stars for the whole evening. Book a table now
