The best bits: 1 The Plat du Jour was simple but plentiful and tasty. We could have opted for a la carte which also looked good but we chose the set menu. The Plat du Jour consisted of mushroom soup, then a beetroot and lettuce salad with a tasty mayonnaise style sauce, then a chicken and broad bean potato mash with a very nice sauce followed by a Kahlua flavoured creamy mousse dessert. Then there was 1/4 litre of house wine each and finally a very nice coffee - all for Euro 13.90.2 The waitress. A beautiful young woman cast in the pre- Raphaelite style. She had virtually no English, we had virtually no French but she did very communicated really well, was friendly and prompt.3 The lunch tim...

An attractive setting and a promising menu at 13.90 Euros rapidly became unattractive by virtue of the waitress / proprietress who took great exception to our taking a table for 4 when we were just 2, even though the restaurant had many empty tables. 2 other 'French' couples were occupying tables for four, and this lady then offered a similar table for four to a newly arrived French couple. Honestly my wife and I voted to REMAIN within the EU. She wasn't to know that of course. Our desserts were delivered short of topping which other diners seemed to receive. She did however smile when I paid, and I helped another English couple by translating their request into French for her to understand....

Visited the Chateau, then over to the resaurant. as the other reviewers have stated, four courses with wine for 13 euros. We statrted with a very tasty pot of vegetables and lentils... sounds strange but was delicious, then soup, Roast beef and home made chips, ending with a lovely pear and chocolate dessert. All washed down with wine and a coffee. Excellent value and all of a very good standard.Would drive out there again just to use the restaurant for lunch. Get there early as the 'Plat du Jour' ran out after we had ordered and the the chips became frozen not home made so we had the better mealThe young lady who served us was charming and very polite

First, the ONLY restaurant is Auberge du Chateau de Biron! That made it interesting to find! We did after asking locals for your number 1 restaurant, Auberge de Biron which does not exist. Staff were welcoming and helpful but that is where it ended. Maybe we should have had the menu du jour but none of our six wanted Moussaka , the only main course available on a hot June day. The a la carte menu posted outside was somewhat faded which leaves me to believe that it has not changed for years and that the dishes could well be frozen and then re-heated. Very disappointing after reading earlier reviews. Perhaps we should have settled for Moussaka!. Book a table now

As others have said, this is an excellent, quiet, country restaurant where one can dine outdoors overlooking, or more correctly underlooking the Chateau de Biron which towers above just across the square. 4 nice tasty courses, wine and coffee for 13.90 euros was really excellent value. However, they do have a secret. They close for the winter at the end of September. We also will drive there again just to have lunch in the restaurant.

Very good menus available for 13 Euro. Soup, entree, plat, dessert - your choice from the menu! Nice location opposite the Chateau with a sunny terrasse and a pleasant and much cooler area inside. Spotless toilet facilities. The menu reflects it's tourist customers - fish and chips (written in English) on a French menu. Young, pleasant, efficient wait staff. You can do worse than here.

Enjoyed the whole experience ... great good .... will definitely return. The emphasis is on local produce simply prepared and cooked. Duck features on a few dishes and is beautifully prepared. Cheeses are as you would expect.. mild and packed with wonderful flavours. The salad de terroir was a delight and delicious... it will take at least an hour to eat it !

We stopped at the Auberge du Château after a visit of Biron Castle. The terrace was lovely and not crowded on a Sunday lunch in July, which was pleasant already. The salads were filling and the service welcoming. It made for a pleasant lunch. Book a table now

Bad service from the manager, she threatened to call the gendarmes when I complained about the caterpillar in my salad. She was a nasty piece of work. Avoid at all costs.
