Auberge Plan-Francey

We weren't really hungry but needed something, so we got the planchette a slate board with: air-dried beef, smoked ham, cured ham, bacon, and Gruyere cheese (bread included of course). Everything was top quality, all made in the Gruyere valley, nothing with pieces-joined-by-glue ..this was the real stuff. We went to the Fromagerie to buy the cheese since the taste topped anything we ever had here in Switzerland (we live here). Unfortunately we weren't able to find a place to buy the other products perhaps next time we will have time to look in Bulle.

We have visited this restaurant a couple of times over the last decade. Our most recent visit wasn't great. The layout is confusing. There is a buffet room and another room where you can order food, but that isn't clearly signposted. The food is ok,...but could be better for a very busy restaurant. If you go up the cable car to the summit, the observatory food is much nicer and a more relaxed atmosphere.

The good. The views around are amazing. The bad, the service, except the bartender who was amazingly efficient in service dozen if people waiting for their drinks. The ugly. Despite knowing the afflux of clients for the of August celebration, they were already out...if several plates by Last, the gruyere/vacherin fondue was abnormally heavy.

This restaurant is located at the middle section of the Moléson cable car. They have a nice terrace and a stunning view. The restaurant itself is self-service but the food was good. Also the atmosphere inside is pretty good. We had the choucroute harbor which...was the daily menu.

Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Die Zimmer sind einfach, sauber und zweckmässig. Das Morgenessen ohne Ansprüche i.O. Es wäre schön, wenn die Tische für das Morgenessen gereinigt und etwas gedeckt wären.
