This is a very attractive hotel with balconies all across the front. It is set in a beautiful garden. We arrived very tired after a long drive. I’d booked in advance but was not given a choice of room while booking. The place was swarming with people so we assumed it was full. They were, in fact, having Sunday lunch, obviously popular. Sadly when we asked at what time dinner would be served, we were told the restaurant closes Sunday evenings. We were very disappointed to find we had a room at the back; there were many front rooms with good balconies, but we assumed all those had been taken. located next to the road that goes from Basel to Belfort, this hotel restaurant is close to a forest and has a nice parc to separat it from the road. the restaurant itself was renewd a couple of years ago, in the summer you have a very nice terrasse, in every case, you should book in advance specially during the week end. the cuisine is great, it is family lead and you feel their presence in everything, they really invest themself in it. go there, you won't regret it!
We had a family event there and since then I have been meaning to write a positive review about this restaurant which is absolutely excellent. Food was amazing from A to Z, staff was very nice and friendly. I can only confirm all positive reviews written by the rest of the Tripadvisor community. On a side note, I also would like to mention that we stayed overnight in the hotel after dinner. The hotel is an excellent choice too. I would definitely go back there !
Coming back to Auberge Sundgovienne, we are always reminded of how much we appreciate this restaurant. The food is superb and nicely presented. The setting is elegant and the friendly service, even at busy times, swift and attentive. Highly recommended!
