Stopped here during a weekend break and it was a lovely break from the tourist traps of Lindau. The bookshop cafe serves cakes, snacks and small meals in a bookshop environment. It's a small place so not good for groups but has a lovely nook at the back for older children. Though I was alone, I noticed it wouldn't be the easiest place to go with very young children; no space for buggies and tight tables surrounded by books that sticky little fingers would try to touch. Had a good selection for special diets, a nice surprise

The concept of this cafe/bookshop is quaint but 1/3 of our table was piled with books for sale and it left the table quite crowded for our plates and drinks. Our waitress was enthusiastic but forgetful. One of the main dishes didn't come with the other two and waitress realized she forgot to order it. No problem in canceling it and then she offered a free dessert to make up for it. The Moroccan lentil soup was outstanding, the chili quite good but the quiche was less tasty.

The evening we ended up here was one of the most memorable of our time in Germany. We came here after a long day of traveling, and it was one of the only places we found open late enough to get something to eat. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food is delicious, and the atmosphere fun and quirky. I would absolutely come back here again.
