On a wet rainy day, we were after a warm cosy place to sit down and have some drinks. We were recommended this cafe' by a Frenchman, when we explained what we were after, and didn't want a modern cold looking cafe' that were very prevalent in the town. This place completely fitted the bill. We found a lovely little area around the back, with a sofa, surrounded by book shelves. We had coffees, beers and wine, and really enjoyed ourselves. The place was packed, and there was a real buzz in the air. The food looked absolutely delicious, although we did not eat. Our bill was very reasonable.

Stopped here during a weekend break and it was a lovely break from the tourist traps of Lindau. The bookshop cafe serves cakes, snacks and small meals in a bookshop environment. It's a small place so not good for groups but has a lovely nook at the back for older children. Though I was alone, I noticed it wouldn't be the easiest place to go with very young children; no space for buggies and tight tables surrounded by books that sticky little fingers would try to touch. Had a good selection for special diets, a nice surprise

Augustin is the best cafe that I ever visited in Germany or even in Italy. Besides the unique atmosphere and design, the food will make you get the real pleasure. All the pies and quiches are home-made, there is a good choice of smoothies and other healthy food. Soups are so yummy. Last time I ordered creamy asparagus soup that was so good that I wanted to order another one. I keep returning to this cafe when I am in Lindau, actually its one of the reasons for me to come and visit Lindau once more.

The concept of this cafe/bookshop is quaint but 1/3 of our table was piled with books for sale and it left the table quite crowded for our plates and drinks. Our waitress was enthusiastic but forgetful. One of the main dishes didn't come with the other two and waitress realized she forgot to order it. No problem in canceling it and then she offered a free dessert to make up for it. The Moroccan lentil soup was outstanding, the chili quite good but the quiche was less tasty. Book a table now

It's easy to pass it by if you are not specifically looking for it. It's small, but cozy and the staff are friendly. There are quite a few books on the shelves to read while you are there, but as far as I saw all of them were in German. The menu was also only in German but our waitress explained what was available and honestly, even if you are not a vegetarian, the food is delicious :)I'd definitely recommend the place!

The evening we ended up here was one of the most memorable of our time in Germany. We came here after a long day of traveling, and it was one of the only places we found open late enough to get something to eat. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food is delicious, and the atmosphere fun and quirky. I would absolutely come back here again.

We had a wonderful experience in cafe Augustin. Lots of vegetarian dishes, wonderful tea and a very good Merlot. The atmosphere is that cosy that we spent almost 4 hours in the restaurant. Perfect service, with the staff speaking a very good english. Book a table now

A bit of Paris or San Francisco on Fischergasse. The wait staff (who also cook) are friendly and skillful and helpful. A delight for an afternoon snack.
