"Location amazing, food average... pretty old school. My Ceaser had cold thigh chicken and store bought bottle dressing (assuming). Staff were lovely and the fire place was warm and roasting. Would go again for the scenery but would prob go for breakfast instead."

I was apprehensive after reading reviews but we found the food to be very tasty, large serves and reasonable price. We had the chicken burger, salads and lamb shanks.Staff were friendly and helped us take a family photo. Best place to sit is outside (weather permitting), they have a bar where you can get drinks as you need it. I am giving this 4 stars as I feel the reception entrance and inside cafe area needs to be refurbished. First impressions mean a lot and I think it would help their ratings.

Group of 7 of us had Sunday lunch. Lamb shank very tough and inedible. They agreed and refunded. Wedges so greasy you could squeeze a good amount of oil out of each wedge. Very unpleasant. Sweet potato fries excellent though. Manager did not seem overly concerned or apologetic. Great venue very friendly wait staff but would think twice before returning.

Food was great, but surrounds needs work. It was a beautiful day, so we decided to eat outside, we were seated next to a wheelbarrow that had obviously been forgotten about. Leaves, duck poo, and generally untidy. Just needs attention to detail, and I would go back again. Lots of other eating places that take more care.

The grounds are lovely. The food menu is varied and interesting. The food we had was very very good. We had the black bean and beetroot burger, a cheese and bacon cob and a delicious berry cheesecake. The coffees and chai latte were also very good. To top it off, the girls serving were lovely and friendly.
