Arrived not long after 3pm for 3:30 booking today ie Saturday afternoon. Town very busy as Newcastle playing at home. Booked table last week and tweaked the time yesterday to avoid traffic. We had an amazing time. I don 't bother writing reviews normally as I 'm rarely happy with meals out but this was excellent and good value for money. Couple of cocktails, wine, starters and mains for two, for my sisters birthday treat. We were both delighted with the food, service and ambience. Staff very attentive and friendly. Negronis definitely hit the spot! Decor warm, clean, sparkling and contemporary for a comfortable, relaxing meal topped off with surprise candle flanked by two chocolate truffles...
Been many times especially for the Sunday lunch as it was lovely however the last few times we’ve been feel like it’s lost it. Been tonight for a pre theatre meal and just confirmed what I thought, the quality has dropped. I had the prawns on toast and it wasn’t good, the toast wasn’t crunchy but hard to cut and rubbery and the prawns the same, the other half had calamari which was too heavy on the batter, looked more like cheap onion rings. The mains were fine, however the desserts weren’t great, my Panna Cotta was ok, have had better from M&S however the Chocolate mousse was awful, very grainy, unpleasant but fair play to them they knocked that and a bit extra off the bill. We chose Babucho for its family friendly reputation and warm atmosphere. We weren’t disappointed and were upgraded to a booth table on arrival and made welcome by Orlagh our waitress. She was simply fantastic and so friendly and efficient. The kids really enjoyed designing their chef’s hats and making their own pizzas at the table! Orlagh then took them to the kitchen to watch the pizzas cook! All the food was amazing and we left with big smiles on our faces and the kids gave Orlagh a big hug each which doesn’t happen often! We will be back for sure as soon as we can. Thanks!
Visited with my partner. The restaurant was buzzing, a lovely atmosphere. We were seated quickly early before our booking. Our waitress was lovely helpful. We ordered wine straight away then tried some of the cocktails. My partner ordered calamari I went for the arancini balls, they were unreal. My partner said he’s never tried calamari like it. I opted for the Risotto, goats cheese, chicken cherry tomatoes my partner got a surf turf, he said it was the best steak he has ever had. My risotto was lovely. It’s a beautiful restaurant, decor is gorgeous Can’t wait to return

For some reason beyond me the restaurant has chosen to limit the choice of main meals to 11 dishes over Xmas which I guess is there choice but they could have told me on the phone when I made the booking very restrictive and even more some when my wife's a vegan with 1 option if it hadn't been that our table was booked for 9pm on Saturday (incidentally my wife's birthday) I would have up and left, and upon leaving the manager couldn't give a monkeys needless to say we won't be going back.
Visited 4 times in December singing waiters night 2 Saturday nights New Year’s Eve every night was excellent in every way especially New Year’s Eve the best I’ve had in years food ,staff , service excellent fantastic atmosphere great music singing waiters absolutely brilliant lots of lovely other customers . Visited as a group of friends. It was a great success, friendly welcome, staff were all pleasant and efficient. The food (Christmas Menu) was really good, everything was delicious and nicely presented. The decor and ambience added to what turned out to be a very enjoyable visit, we will definitely highly recommend and look forward to returning
Brilliant night, great food fantastic atmosphere, a special shout out to Flynn Eme our hosts for the evening, they were charming, funny warm who really made our evening so memorable , they were so helpful knowledgeable too, they’re a credit to the team.
