We found the Backerei while wandering the streets of St Wolfgang and found ourselves drawn inside. Everything looked so wonderful and tempting. Since we had just finished lunch, we chose a walnut pastry that could wait for later. When we did dive in, it was a wonderful combination of flaky pastry and walnuts similar to a piece of pecan pie. highly recommend!
The apple strudel and the coffee were very good at bakery café Gandl, it was only later that I learned that this bakery has been in place for 200 years and specialized in ingwerbread... I'm not sure how I missed this: my recommendation is when you visit, you should certainly try to get her ingwerbread. Service was efficient and friendly.
We stumbled over this place, but we were not disappointed. The display of the pastries was mouthwater and we were overwhelmed with the choice in the offer. It was tricky to choose, we all enjoyed our terrace series. The young man who served had excellent English and was attentive while we were sitting outside.
Visited this bakery on 3occasions during my visit to ST Wolfgang and the sandwich's and cakes were great ,they also serve a great Americano and capucchino,and the staff are very friendly and helpful,prices are also very reasonable and the shop is spotless ,well worth a visit if your ever in st wolfgang
