This place is a hidden gem in Castleford. If you're fed up of big brand coffee houses, pretentious independent coffee shops and greasy spoons (or if you love these but want to try something different) Bake My Day is the place to go. All their cakes look so lovingly made and decorated (their Instagram always makes me hungry), they also taste amazing too! Their coffee is beautiful, as well as having an extensive menu of other drinks. Their lunch menu is never a let down. When ever I have been their menu and cakes always caters for those who are meat eaters, veggie, vegan and gluten free. The staff are friendly and amazing at what they do.
My sister and I like exploring places for afternoon tea and this place is a little gem! A friend recommended it and it did not disappoint. Its a tiny little cafe but the food was amazing, it was the small touches that made it different, chutney and roast peppers on the sandwiches ect. We were offered top up of tea regularly. The only thing I would have liked is for us to be told what we had on the stand when it was brought to the table, there isnt a standard menu, what comes out appears to be a surprise but a delicious one!
Booked afternoon tea in advance. Service was slow my friend got her drink and mine never arrived. No one described what the sandwiches were some red coloured meat?! Very expensive £16 pp for a basic afternoon tea. Wouldn't order it again. Lack of parking and hard to monouver a pram around.
We’ve been to bake my day for brunch many a time and they’ve never disappointed, I think that the waffle sandwich that I had this time was one of my favourite things I’ve eaten here, it was super simple but really well made.

Best coffee ever and a fab range of food and cakes to suit everyone’s taste! Always end up trying something new as everything sounds too good.
So as a coffee lover/caffeine addict with a sweet tooth- I didn’t object to going all this way- 20 miles to get her gluten free goodies.
