Meet up with some friends last night for coffee and cake Bakery on O'Connell and my expectations were high as other reviewers I respect had rated it highly. After eating there myself I do not know why.
I did not like the dining area, the seating was terrible and there was nothing aesthetically pleasing at all.
The products were sub standard from my luke warm potato pie, to the lemon meringue pie that had NO lemon flavour at all.
The only thing that was good was the service. The staff were extremely pleasant and patient with the people making their selections. This saved the rating from being a 2.0.
Love, love, love bakery on O'Connell. You can always rely on them to satisfy your craving at all hours of the day or night. Lately I can't go past their golden gay time cronnoli, it's is pure decadence and is so moorish. I have now resorted to sharing with Husbando when I get one. I also love their vanilla slice, the custard filling is so tasty. Beating was super tasty too and not heavy. Seating available or takeaway if you want. The hardest part is deciding what you want.
Rang & ordered an apple pie to take to a friends home for dessert. Lucky I did order as they were so busy for Sunday lunch and it was the last one. The pie was enormous! Enough to feed at least 10 people and there were only 3 of us. Well, the pastry, filling of thick apple chunks and overall yummy-ness was amazing! Will definitely visit again!
Was just over the road having a pint at the Oak and thought I'd meander on in for a snag roll and a custard berliner. Absolutely top notch grub, you've got a great group of guys n gals and pretty **** good prices. Will be back!

Usual problem everytime what do we choose, there's something for everyone great atmosphere and the staff actually look like they love working there well done guys. Great hang out spot if it had 10 stars you'd get that from me
I love this place it is open 24/7 and sells many scrumptious baked goods that would satisfy any dietary requirement. The staff are always friendly
