this restaurant lies. their menu readers will make food to order, I told the service staff who was efficient and nurturing. that I had food allergies and every one would give me a heavy headache. she assured me that she would write this on the order sheet and I would get it without a spicy. I took 2 bites of eating and immediately told her I tasted pfeffer. she checked with the cook. she returned and said that the steak was pre-chosen and so it could not change. Why didn't they tell me before I was eating it and getting sick? they didn't charge me for the meal. later I called and talked to the manager about it. he said they didn't blame me for the meal. Although I lived in the opposite of milwaukee for several decades, I was never sworn by this popular institution. we visited an unseasonally warm spring day that let everyone come out of winter sleep, so when we arrived there on Saturday at 15:30 a.m., it was full. we ordered a medium pizza and a half pizza from spotter cow bier. the owale pizza with a perfect light crust comes on something like a cookie leaf to the table. it was excellent, but not the best I ever had. For the first time, my son had to experience the great Italian cuisine as well as the beautiful ambiente of this restaurant, which has been a staple of milwaukee for years. garlauchbrot was so good, the children chicken strips were more than enough, especially for the price. the Italian bark was amazing and the pizza was why I always come back!
Cannot say enough about the food, the staff and the ambiance. Whether it is pregame, post-game, special night out, day drinking and dining or late night cocktails and dinner after a late flight this place never, ever disappoints. Its been that way for years and hope it never changes.
