As ever more trendy hipster bars pop up in King West, where it is more important to be seen than it is to demand great service and good value, it is refreshing to have a true neighbourhood bar to have a cold drink after work or dinner with friends. The bar is located in an old converted bank, with plenty of wood, high vaulted ceilings and large windows opening out onto King St. and Bathurst St. The food is fairly standard pub fare, but good quality and generous portions. The service is attentive, with Marty on the day bar and a very friendly McKenzie serving most of the week. Patrons range from film crew roadies and construction workers, to advertising executives, to tourists and families st...

I decided to have my staff holiday party here and that was the best decision of the year. Absolutely everyone of my co-workers had the best time. We are in bar industry so we are very hard to please and James & Louie took care of us like we were family. Julianna was our server and we didn't have to ask for anything. Service was on point every time. Nick cooked up an assortment of dishes which disappeared in seconds as my door staff are big eaters. Bank Note bar is a must visit for everyone. The food is tasty the service is great and the drinks are flowing. I love this place If you want an easy place to go, this is itJohn & Colin

I ordered a steak, and all I got was a slab of meat and some average french fries. No sauce or a salad on the side. The meat also looked and tasted burnt. The beer was good and they had a nice selection. The waitress was nice, but very clingy. After we paid for our meal the waitress ran after us and "demanded" more in tips, but we didn't want to pay for something we didn't get. They also play super loud electronic dance music in what is supposed to be a cozy sports bar which totally ruins the atmosphere. Overall a bad experience, wouldn't come again.

We ate in this bar a couple of times for dinner. Service was a bit hit and miss depending on which server you got. The steak frites was a very good piece of steak and very enjoyable. I had the prime rib one night but that was nowhere near as nice. It is quite a big place. Ideal for big groups. Prices are a bit on the high side but good food never the less. I would recommend having a meal here. Book a table now

During a very, very cold night in Toronto, my wife and I were walking back from BMO Field and we wanted to just take a break. We stumbled (due to very cold limbs) into the Banknote and had ourselves some nice pints and right by the fireplace as well. It was hard to jump into an uber after getting all cozy and comfy. The beer selection is really good at this pub.

Came here on a weeknight & the place was quite busy!! Originally had a table for 4 but 2 more showed up & managed to move tables without a problem. Trish was our server & she was excellent!! Daily food & drink specials are available daily here - food is great!! I hope Trish is our server again, as I will be back. kudos.

I frequent the Banknote in particular for their ribs (may be best ribs for value in the city)Vibe is more quiet than usual on King and lots of Tvs usually showing soccer or hockeyFood is excellent and great value for king street west - much cheaper than you would expect while still delivering good quality.

We happened upon it early evening.Great vibe in a bar that used to be a bank.Wednesday half price nachos and Wellington SPA for $6 hit the spot.Loved the music and we had delightful server called Kristy.Enjoyed sitting in the armchairs in the corner and watching the evening resellers. Worth a visit. Book a table now

Three of us for an early Saturday meal. Staff welcoming and attentive. Menu great - lots on there we would like to return to. Mediterranean Salmon Salad was delicious. Onion rings perfect. Prices very good. Will definitely return.
