The place itself is very nice, pretty, and clean. When I went, there was no one there, so it was rather quiet. The staff are friendly, and they were very helpful. As for the baos, I tried the lava bao (fully black) and the choco milk bao (brown). I wouldn't really come back since the baos didn't really appeal much to me (and were $4.50 each), but I would love to try their other flavors if I come back.Ratings:Lava bao (4/10) the exterior was crispy and the interior has the exact texture as the egg custard from an egg tart (slightly firmer). The outside really had no flavor, and the inside had the slightest egg taste. I have no other comment than this honestly; just lackluster. Not sweet thoug...

Came here for a drink and a snack on a Sunday. The ambiance of this place is great. The aesthetic is modern, upscale and clean. The girl working there was very friendly. I felt bad for her because she was the only one there taking orders, warming food and making the drinks.I tried the lava bao. The outside was was black sesame flavored and it was filled with coconut and custard. I was a little disappointed because I thought the custard filling would be more of a liquid custard than a solid egg custard. Also I didn't get much black sesame flavor from the outside. The starry, starry night drink was pretty good. I wasn't sure what exactly was in it but it tasted like a lychee lemonade with pea...
This is my second favorite tea spot in the city!Their starry starry night tea is as dreamy as it looks. Appearance aside, I love how it was just the right amount of sweetness for my tastebuds, and was fruity and flavorful! I caught them at Smorgasburg last season and also ordered two sweet baked baos egg yolk and lava. They both were delicious but my favorite was the lava. It was a black sesame bun filled with homemade custard and coconut milk and was exploding with flavor. Check out their locations near Chinatown or Washington Square Park, their Williamsburg and Prospect Park locations during the Smorgasburg season, or the Union Square Park market during the winter/spring seasons! They have...
Very cute place with amazing service, but definitely overpriced. If you get a single bao it's $4.25 each, which is quite pricey given the size. I got the lava bao, which is the black sesame and custard bao. Unfortunately, the custard overpowered the black sesame, and there was very little black sesame flavor. A tad bit on the sweet side, but it reminded me of the custard buns at dim sum which are my absolute favorite. The employee was very patient with our order and gave really good recommendations. Overall, the baos were pretty good, and I loved the atmosphere. I would only come back if my friend or family wanted to try this place, and I probably would not go out of my way to come here for... The photos and some reviews made it seem like a perfect hang out place. You could always order to go because the food is decent enough. Got the vegan bao, matcha bao, the fried chicken bao and oolong hot tea.Positives: matcha bao was unexpectedly great! great other places aroundThings could be improved: shortage of seating in comparison to the tables broken seats no paper towels or napkins (they ran out of it) for the saucy bao server did not know which one was vegan and which one was chicken while serving the orderGet it to go.
Finally I made the visit. I bought three flavors this time. The classic(pork), taro and lava. The pork on has very thin bread on the outside. Not much butter flavor and could smell better if baked a bit more. The filling is not impressive enough compared to what I had in Mei Lai Wah or the chat siu I had jn HK. But the taro is quite amazing! Very crispy outside and most important is the taro filling is not too sweet, smoothy and full of taro flavor. A great great option. May come try other flavor next time!
My first time ordering from Bao Tea house and was disappointed. The lava bao 's specifically says each order comes in a box with two buns so we assumed they all did but each box had only one bao per order. Me and coworkers ordered 7 things and it 's so tiny barely enough for one person. The doordash description is not clear and accurate and should be updated.
This is a nice and cozy bao shop with a great variety of Bun that is located in Greenwich area. We ordered 4 types of bun. We recommend the Lava Bào and Egg Bào. They were amazing. The dough was so soft and the filling was so dreamy. We will try other Bao next time. There is still plenty of options to choose. Book a table now
The food and drinks here are fantastic. It was a little expensive, but the fried chicken baos were definitely worth it! The service was very fast and they were super nice. The place was also really cute. They had great lighting and interesting seating areas.
