The location is nice at the canal (make a reservation if you want to sit directly at the water). The menu is of course mostly fish and seafood and it is really very fresh! The starters were actually delicious, very nice tartar de poisson - a kind of refind French Sushi... - and some simple but tasteful and mild anchovis. The brochettes de poisson were also fie: simple and just good food. - Our six year old daughter does not like fish, so she had a steak haché (a burger, just better) which was wonderful. It's a typical tourist place with average food. We speak French and still noticed a difference in the way we were treated compared to the local clientele. You could tell their brochettes were not cooked to order, they were cooked earlier in the day and reheated. The calamari was an over-breaded frozen ring instead of a fresh dish. Rosé was nice at a good price. Don't want to be to critical but the cheap price for the food equaled cheap food. We will not be going back.
We ate dinner twice at Bar Le Nautic in early-July. They do a set menu that's very good value and obviously specialise in fish. The food is very good quality and a slightly different style to many of the other restaurants in Sete. The staff are good and the slightly quieter location on the canal made it a great place to visit.
I visited this restaurant twice during my last stay in Sete, following a recommendation from our hotel. Superb seafood, delicious wine and lovely water side location.
