We ended up at Restaurant du Port by accident on an August evening when Sete’s festival of Saint Louis was in full swing and the streets were teeming with people. As we went from restaurant to restaurant it turned out there was no food to be had in the centre without a reservation. In the Rue Pierre Sémard, where there are several good addresses, someone was using a spray can of paint right next to the outdoor seating of a restaurant, filling the street with toxic fumes! So we were happy to find an outdoor seat at the popular Restaurant du Port on Canal Latéral. It was also very busy and service was rather chaotic. A friendly man intently watching diners from the doorstep feemed to be a wait...
