The Urca Bar has been one of the most pleasant places of the Rio de Janeiro meeting since 1939. Cold beer neighborhood, view of Guanabara Bay and tranquility make this bar a must-see destination for those who wish to experience Rio as the locals do. On the top floor of a restaurant and comfortable, ideal to enjoy Brazilian dishes as well. But what the Urca Bar does is a unique place down: Taberna sells beer bottles and traditional snacks for the customer to buy and take to a small wall across the street. Unexpectedly this was our very best Rio spot during our holiday in Brasil. Previously, we were told that many locals are spending weekend here and afterwards, we understand why. This place has restaurant part on floor and nice, cosy bar downstairs. Lula e camarao and moqueca de camaroes were just awesome! Served with manioc and rice, portions for two are huge, buth we enjoyed the meal so much, we couldn't resist eating all of it. Atmosphere is nice, however I saw plenty of tourist upstairs. We had a local beer and didn't find space for any additional meals. But even the way how they serve food here is fantastic. Give them a try and you will love it.
As soon as I arrived in Rio, my friend Javier arranged to take me to lunch in a nice little bar where the food made from seafood rules. In it, people buy the food and will sit on the coast that lies in front of the local. When I was there a large group of cyclists made a stop to have some fresh beers and fill the stomach that so much physical activity seemed to have emptied. I honestly don't know them because my friend, like every good host, has to settle the debts. It is a corner of one of those that one should know, there are no tourists there, so chatting with the locals gives an extra touch to the site.
A typical river bar to prove everything that is pastel from Brazil .. that was what I did;) I advise the cake of camarao to accompany with matte;) sitting on the wall to see the wonderful landscape;)
