We visited the restaurant for my friend Jill's birthday. We sat at a long table meeting new friends and eating enjoyable food. I dived into the lemon and pea risotto with feta. The restaurant were happy for us to bring along Jill's birthday cake. They provided candles and had the whole restaurant singing Happy Birthday which was so special. Lovely setting above the Plymouth Gin Distillery in the Barbican area of the town. Food was great. The decor was stunning! The servers were very attentive and friendly. Would go back again!! Ps it is upstairs but there is a lift!! Hurray!!
Came here on Saturday night as a table of four. The food lacked flavour. I appreciate the restaurant was busy but this has never stopped me enjoying the food in previous visits. The mains arrived before the starter plates had been removed, the food, especially the cauliflower soup, was bland and lacked seasoning. My Husband left most of his calves liver which in previous visits he had really enjoyed. Such a shame to write this as it’s a family favourite go to restaurant
Warm and pleasant welcome, clean and safe environment, good service and lovely food what more could you ask for. This is a beautifully situated restaurant in the famous Barbican area of Plymouth and the restaurant was full and tge atmosphere was lovely and the food was delicious. All amenities were excellent and we had an excellent night, thank you Barbican Kitchen.

I was pleased to see that the menu has a varied list of vegan choices as well as vegetarian and meat-containing options. Good to see that there is a set menu as well as à la carte options.

After dining at this restaurant, I find that I can no longer enjoy other places as much as I used to. It is a really lovely spot and a true treat for any special occasion.
Lovely environment and food.we booked for our special dinner and it didn't disappoint. Food wine and service was the best. Always very polite. The pork main was perfect.
In all the years I have lived in Plymouth, I had never dined at this restaurant. It definitely met my expectations with its great food and excellent service.
Disclaimer: I am writing this review while under the influence and by myself. However, I must say, this is hands down the best steak I have ever had.

Fantastic food and service. Great to see Chris Tanner on the pass. Definitely recommend and will return.
While this may be the smaller version of Tanners, it is not significantly cheaper as one might expect.
