The food is delicious and has creative flair grilled peaches and burrata, beets with goat cheese , gnocchi, and pancetta wrapped scallops. All excellent. Desert did not disappoint either croissant crisps and chocolate cake with coconut ice cream, both exceptionally fresh and flavorful. And the cocktails are special too Misunderstood ginger whiskey with matcha tea...yes please! Service was attentive. Just had to wait a little long for a couple of requests, like a glass of ice and a taste of wine that we wanted to purchase a bottle of. So that our appetizers arrived before our wine. Battello, you beauty! My husband and I always looked at the pretty restaurant right by the river whenever we visited Newport. On my husband's birthday, we decided to finally visit this place and it certainly lived up to our expectations! We ordered the kale hazelnut salad, half chicken and the eggplant entree. The food was tasty, each dish better than the other. The drinks were strong and unique.. we each tasted 2 cocktails and they were all great. The live music was beautiful and set the atmosphere for us. Prior reservation is definitely recommended, especially on weekend nights! We had a work party here in their back private space before it shut down for renovation. The food was great and everyone enjoyed the party, but my only complaint is the private room has no water views. Other than that the it was a great time. I especially enjoyed the passed chicken and waffles appetizer and the nice selection of meat and cheeses they had on display. I would visit Batellos again in the future, especially considering the lack of upscale lunch spots in the Newport Jersey City area.
As for the food, the pasta was decent, the pork chop was good, but the steak lacked flavor. The waiter was better than the hostess, but our cocktails took an eternity to arrive, and my wife specifically requested a very cold cosmopolitan, which he clearly didn’t check because it arrived at room temperature. The combination of a cold hostess and a warm drink made it difficult to recover from the experience. It’s so disappointing when a lovely place is overshadowed by unwelcoming service.

Amazing food, cocktails, service, and ambiance! The location at the marina pier offers stunning views of lower Manhattan. The spacious dining area, high ceilings, and cozy seating create a wonderful environment. On top of that, the seasonal menu is packed with fresh ingredients that are flavorful, creative, and beautifully presented. Finally, the service was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant!
Battello Restaurant surpassed all my expectations! The pasta was incredibly delicious, and the Pinot Noir wine was the best I've ever tasted. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, providing excellent service throughout. The restaurant's attention to detail and breathtaking waterfront view added to the overall charm. I highly recommend Battello for an unforgettable culinary experience. Can't wait to return!
The best thing about this place is the view and vibe. And the food and drinks make it even more a pleasant experience. The strawberry basil cocktail was great for a summer noon drink. The chicken lavish wrap was plentiful and flavorful, highly recommend it.Parking: Pier parking
The food is extremely good here and they use fantastic ingredients. Some items are a bit over done for me like the truffle steak appetizer, however their pastas are great. Very nice place for an evening out. And the view of NYC is fantastic.
