In Countries were good or excellent food is the norm, it is difficult to exalt the qualities of restaurants and food we have enjoyed. However, during our one day visit to LaGuardia, I must say that our day's menu meal at Batzoki was rather exceptional....It was not just the service and informal setting of the restaurant, it was also the high food quality and the very good preparation of it. Our meals were wholesome, not fancy, exceptional in taste and flavors, and of great value. My wife enjoyed her Patatas a la Riojana, and at the same time I delighted myself with my vegetable stew (Menestra). Our second plates, were lamb cutlets for my wife and boned suckling pig for me. Both delicious and...

We had checked into our hotel in Logrono and brought our friends out to see La Guardia in the afternoon. It was almost 3pm and we were hungry. Passed by this restaurant and they were still advertising their menu del dia and they had tables...out in the street so we decided to try it. We were not disappointed. We all had the delicious salmorejo on my recommendation (my friends were not familiar with this soup) It was excellent and the helping was very generous. For the main course the two ladies had merluza (hake) a la planca, one of the guys had morcilla and the other the chuletillas. All choices were excellent. I decided to have cuajada, scalded milk with honey for dessert while the others...

We had dinner here, the waiter was attentive and helpful, and we tried all local wines. The best suggestions. The food was fresh and beautifully cooked, we tried dishes we had never had before, such as suckling pig and confit of duck, cooked using local...methods. The meat fell off the bone and melted in our mouth. We would definitely go again, and wished we had dined here earlier, during our stay. Fantastico!

We popped in there during a busy bank holiday. We had not booked in advance and it was about 3.00 pm, but they managed to find us a nice table. Lovely food and, despite the relatively high price (this Spanish region is not cheap if...compared to the average menú del día restaurant in the Mediterranean area), it's good value for money. We will go back for sure!!
