I have mixed feelings about the B&B. The location itself is nice, especially if you sit on the terrace. However, getting there is quite a first challenge. You have to drag your luggage up to the hotel. Not a very big deal, but the start is already sweaty. So why three stars only: Mainly because of two reasons: a tiny (and yet pricy) room and bad breakfast. The room was so small, I was nearly able to touch the walls by stretching out my arms. We had to sleep in beds that were opposite of each other and could hardly move in the room. I have rarely seen a room so small. Windows were small and it was quite dark. In the first night I had the feeling of being in a coffin. That might sound a bit dr...
We wanted to book somewhere special for our wedding anniversary in or near Lynmouth. Trip advisor gave the hotel and restaurant as a five star rating. The reviews were excellent so we made the booking with the restaurant. Cathy and Sarah who own and run the hotel were nothing less than brilliant. Fantastic service, the meals that we ordered were cooked to perfection, fillet steak and venison, mouthwatering. We were chatting with some of the other guests in the restaurant and they were all equally impressed with their meals, especially the fish dishes. Charming and full of personality, yet well-equipped and incredibly comfortable. We enjoyed three delightful nights here and found ourselves wishing we could stay for a month. The food at both breakfast and dinner was exceptional, and the welcome we received was incredibly warm. Highly recommended. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5
