On our recent long weekend to Adelaide we visited the beautiful McLaren Vale. Beach Road Wines located at 309 Seaview Rd McLaren Vale, was one of a few wineries we visited and we found it to be a little gem. We arrived around 1.30 and thought we would miss lunch and we were pleasantly surprised when greeted by the owner Briony, who was a delight and more than happy to provide us a table and arrange our lunch. Briony recommended the Pinot Gris that was so tasty and well suited to our choice of shared food we all enjoyed. I highly recommend Beach Road Winery for the atmosphere, the delicious food, the fantastic wine and importantly the hospitality from the owner and her magnificent staff who w...

Stunning day we thought we would try Beach Road Wines. First impressions, really good. The location and view from the deck, just amazing.. The guy at the cellar door, so informative and interesting. We could have just chatted to him all day. He is an asset for sure. Then to lunch. At this stage we were the only ones. A couple of pizzas. Really average. Dry, tasteless,no substance at all. The fig and gorgonzola, several figs and we couldn't see, let alone taste the cheese. The squid ,chilli and olive. A couple of rubbery bits of squid, a green olive cut in half and not much else. Just not good enough. We were overcharged as well, how is that possible with 6 people for lunch. We loved the wines,...

A group of 11 friends booked for lunch at this southern vales winery to celebrate a birthday. The food when it came was delicious (pizzas) but the service was appalling. We had advised several days prior to our arrival that we would need vegetarian and gluten free options for 2 members of our party but this information was obviously either ignored or not passed on to the kitchen staff, resulting in those people with special dietary requirements being subjected to "the third degree" when trying to order their lunch. The man doing the wine tasting was terrific, so disappointing that the restaurant experience left a bad taste in everyone's mouth! There are a lot of great wineries in this area sou...

We thought we would stop here for lunch whilst touring the region. The service was very ordinary and almost to the point of being rude. Whilst the wines mostly Italian varieties were not to our taste we thought the wood fired pizzas should be good. The pizzas were overpriced and like warm when served. We ordered a beer and cider - the beer was served in the bottle and when I asked for a glass I received a look of annoyance-my partner was given a glass for his cider but it was full of ice when he advised that he didn't want ice the waitress simply tipped the contents over the balcony.I wouldn't stop here again there are better places in McLaren Vale for lunch - friends of ours had lunch at Ma... What a lovely spot to enjoy the beauty that is McLaren Vale. We had heard many grea things about Beach Road and knew we had to go check it out ourselves. We were seated on the outdoor undercover deck area which has amazing views of the beautiful vineyards and landscape. Staff very accommodating for space for a pram as well. We ordered a glass of Beach Road Shiraz which was nice choice to go with our serving of arachini balls and pizza. Arachini balls were delicious. As for the pizza, I can safely say it's some of the best wood oven pizza I have ever had! What a great spot to spend with family on a lovely sunny day!

Forget the wines but the pizzas are fantastic crispy thin bases with an interesting range of toppings The salad was really good to.We didnt have an entree but the arrancini balls at the next table looked good too. With the great pizza the great view the wine was pretty good we would have been happy to settle in for the afternoon, but other wineries beckoned.Highly recommend Beach Road

Recommend booking over weekend because this is a busy restaurant. We enjoyed our meal - we started with cheese and garlic pizza and trio of dips for our starters, kids had pizzas followed by gelato cups, and my husband and I shared a pizza and salad - we were very satisfied with our meal. Service was friendly. Beautiful view over McLaren Vale. Book a table now
