I'm sorry to have to say it but I have visited the beachcomber on my many trips to cranfield and always found it to be a place to relax and enjoy good food with a great atmosphere. However, on my most recent visit I was very saddened to see that this beautiful little beachside cafe has lost its charm and quality of food. Firstly, the portion size has been reduced to half, with prices still the same if not higher. The quality of food has greatly deteriorated. The atmosphere is subdued and above all the warm welcome that we used to receive from the friendly waitresses no longer exists. The waiting staff were excellent; the choice of food was extensive; the décor was lovely; the food was delicious and beautifully presented; the location is well worth the drive! (Beautiful views en route. All in all I would definitely plan to head out for the day with the Beachcomber as my destination, regardless of the weather.
Had a sandcastle burger, definitely would not recommend. Greasiest food I have ever eaten.. Chips came out half cooked, My opinion, overpriced takeaway food. No reduction on price when complained, chef would need to brush up on his customer skills,
