Our family of seven went for a pre-theater meal on December 29th before a pantomime show. We were advised to arrive around 5pm to allow enough time for dining. Upon arrival, we were initially ignored and had to wait until a member of the staff assisted us. We were then given the daytime menu, which did not include a pre-theater or festive menu as we had expected. The menu options were limited, with dishes such as fish and chips, baked potato with chili, scrambled eggs on toast, and soup. Thought I would take my elderly brother out to the Beacon Cafe for a much needed trip after 2 years of covid restrictions for him. We were told there was no gas in the kitchen, but we could order a sandwich. Given that there were two pieces of cake on display we opted for three sandwiches and three coffees. The order turned up with the wrong bread minus the mustard. The waiter was so embarrassed he didnt charge for the coffees but the bill was still over £15 for the dreadful sandwiches. I recently dined at this restaurant where the service from the friendly and helpful lady was excellent. The steak pie I ordered was tasty, though I wished there was more gravy. My partner had the fish, which was okay, but the thin fries were overcooked and too crispy for our liking. Dessert consisted of three types of cake, which were decent, but a side of cream would have been a nice addition. I requested fresh orange lemonade but received Sprite instead, which was disappointing. Despite these minor issues, the restaurant had a nice ambiance and didn't feel overcrowded, even during busy times. Overall, a pleasant experience at this cafe/bistro.
This bar restaurant has a lovely setting with magnificent river views. The food is decent quality and pricing is a little high. Unfortunately the service is diabolical and slow. On a quiet day expect 45minutes to get served longer when busy. Alcohol is extremely expensive think £5 for a bottle of cider or £7.5 for a glass of house wine neither great quality. Basically the staff and management appear to not care about customers or running a decent venue. If you have time to waste watching the river great just don't go in if you want decent service.

Arrived for evening meal, seated fairly promptly but had the impression that our booking wasn’t known to staff. Service disorganised, felt that the waiter couldn’t wait to clear our table as he attempted to start clearing when one hadn’t finished their meal. Coffee served without saucers or teaspoons. Won’t be back until some much needed in service education is introduced. Funnily enough, we had visited ore covoid and experienced similar issues.
Popped in for lunch. The only good thing was the view. Staff didn’t engage at any point, it seems you take a seat, go back up to the bar area to collect a menu for yourself and then wait. And wait. When it arrived the food was awful. Steak was so tough. Mac and cheese didn’t taste of cheese and the mayonnaise was something never to be experienced (I’m guessing it was cheap). Wouldn’t return, wouldn’t recommend. Such a shame.
Had a meal before a show and it was excellent. Husband and our friend had fish n chips, I had the tomato and red pepper pasta with garlic bread. Big portions, piping hot and tasty. Glad to see the restaurant was busy, hope it continues that way for the sake of the hardworking staff, and the theatre.
This restaurant is fantastic, with a stunning view of the River Clyde. The staff were friendly and attentive, providing quick service even on a Sunday. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The building itself is beautiful and worth exploring. I will definitely return in the future.

Just had a lovely visit to Beacon Arts center . Great coffee staff were friendly welcoming. Fantastic views definitely a place I will be coming back to try for lunch . Interesting small exhibition, will watch out for further events .
