Visited during covid and only take away was available. Orders needed to be called in in advance. We didn't know, but the number was posted on the door. As we were in the process of calling, a staff member came out to deliver somebody else's order to their car and offered to take our order. Staff was nice. Free parking on site. There are two picnic tables for you to sit outside with a view of the famous crossroads. However, you do sit right by a busy street. The BBQ sandwiches were really tasty and came out fast. I wouldn't call it the best BBQ I ever had, but I would definitely recommend it as an authentic local place with good food.
I only ate here in 1976. Whenever I am in clarksdale, even through the city, abe is one of only 3 places I eat. abes bbq has a really unique taste. it does not fall into one of the known species of bbq. However, it can be described or categorized, it is delicious over cake. my personal favorite is the large chopped bark sandwich with shiny, but friends and related also have their own preferences. you can't go wrong. also the bevel rings are particularly good. at this time, februar 2021, I don't dive anywhere because of kovid, so I can't appeal internal accusations for kovid.
excellent deceit, loved the vinegar-based cole Slav. cracker is considered a side. we also had excellent hamburger. this place is known for its bbq. it has an interesting civic history and is also on the mississippi blues trail. it is very casual, we could eat late on the afternoon at lunchtime when other places had closed. it's a funny stop.
Don't miss them. I thought I had good bbq, but not so. No wonder it's been for decades. not only the meat, but the sides are delicious. the tamales should die. I've been making an incredible move. cold-weededed and carrot salad worth.
