This restaurant is a nice place to enjoy a coffee, but we initially found it difficult to interact with the staff. We had to ask another customer for help on how to get served. Eventually, we were able to make contact with the lady, who was helpful but not very welcoming. It would have been nice to receive a simple greeting, but instead, she went straight into asking if we had booked a table. Despite this lack of friendliness, our overall experience was enjoyable and we liked the food and drinks. The only downside was the fact that there was only one toilet, which resulted in some waiting around. We are unsure if we would return, as there are other places that seem to appreciate their custom...

I visited Beardsleys with a friend on a weekday afternoon, based on recommendations from other friends. I found the restaurant to be charming and the food to be delicious. However, one of the servers seemed disinterested and did not smile. I mentioned it to her, and she briefly smiled before returning to her unengaging demeanor. Unfortunately, this aspect of the service will be my lasting impression of Beardsleys, overshadowing the overall positive experience. It's a shame, as good service is just as important as the food and atmosphere in my opinion.
Had a lovely time at Beardsleys, this is my third visit and I have too say this place is a hidden gem. The food is excellent, I had the ploughman's which was very filling and well presented, I was going to have cake afterwards but I ended up taking a slice home for later I was to full to attempt it. Service was excellent as usual, tea and food arrived promptly. Staff were polite and friendly. Will definitely be returning soon.
Waited for a good while for someone to take our order after a good while one of us went inside to place order to be told that they were busy and someone would come out to take our order, there really wasn’t many tables taken at all, waited 25 mins still no one came so all left and went elsewhere to March house farm to be treated excellently by staff not ignored. Staff were very not at all pleasant Shall not be returning Book a table now
What can I say? The afternoon tea here is EXCEPTIONAL. I have had many an afternoon tea but this was by far the best; the cakes were cooked to perfection, in fact the satsuma sponge is the best cake I have ever eaten. The savoury treats were very tasty, and the sandwiches lovely. The only thing that was a little let down was the service, but the food was just amazing. Couldn't fault the baking! Bravo.
We went here for afternoon tea to celebrate my Mum's 70th with a large group and it was lovely. We had a room of our own which was tastefully decorated. The soup was thick and hearty, the sandwiches and cakes delicious. It was a shame the tea came out afterwards but we had prosecco in the meantime. The staff were lovely and the price was reasonable. We would definitely visit again.
We have just returned from a wonderful afternoon tea. It was fabulous. The serving of warm fruit or cheese scones is more than one is usually offered. We were served by the fabulous Tamsin who sadly was leaving today. I'm sure she will pass on lots of good advice on how to make the experience really special. Thank you for a delicious afternoon.
Had the most delicious warm cheese scone plus a beautiful piece of cake (victoria sponge with fresh cream, raspberries and lemon curd a winning combo! . Really friendly staff who made us feel really welcome, we sat in the really nice outdoor area. We will definitely be back : Book a table now
What a lovely find while walking in the area. Never thought I would find a tearoom in such a picturesque village but there it was . Nice setting in the centre of the village . Inside and outside seating. Polite and efficient young staff. Look forward to going again one day.
