So funny reading the reviews complaining about the kid working the register. So he had an earring and doesn't talk much, big deal. The other workers were very friendly and fun to talk to. The most important thing for me is good quality food, and this place delivers. I have had a beef, hot dog, burger, fries, and they are all extremely good. I love how they make the fries, just slicing a potato and frying, nothing frozen or pre-prepared. Oh and as for the reviewer complaining about not getting reduced price for hot dog because it's $3.50 and you only want cheese on it, all hot dogs come with fries (and the fries are huge), that's why the dogs cost so much. So anyway, this is not the cheapest...
I've dined here numerous times and have consistently had a great experience. I'm a huge fan of Buona, and Beef Shack is the only other place I enjoy for beef. I actually think Beef Shack is far superior to Portillo's, which I believe has declined in quality over the years (but that's a topic for another review). The cheesy beef on garlic bread is a unique offering that I haven't encountered anywhere else, and it's truly delicious. I also don't understand the criticism of the fries; they're fantastic! Who would choose frozen fries filled with chemicals and preservatives over fresh-cut fries? I do want to try the burger sometime, but the beef is so tasty that I always end up ordering it instea...
How could no one love their delicious Italian beef sandwiches?! They are HUGE also serving fresh delicious Italian bread. You are even better with the garlic cheese options! But if you can't eat such a big sandwich, they'll sell half sandwiches. Super fast courteous ride thru experience every time I have been here during their busy dinner hours. Very recommended!
Best Beef hands down. If you like Portillo's or don't, you'll love this place more. The meat starts off rare so it doesn't get dry or tough and it baked in a oven with you favorite toppings. I normally get the garlic butter on my bun and get it hot with loaded cheese. Don't forget the fresh cut fries, a large feeds 2

I really enjoy this restaurant. If you find yourself away from Gene Jude's, this spot will gladly satisfy your craving for a Chicago-style hot dog. I highly recommend it! The beef is excellent, the combo is fantastic, and if you try one with cheese on garlic bread, you'll feel like you've entered food paradise.
The Italian beef is very good, but the burgers are juicy excellent. Also a great sauce on the Burger. Every time I'm close, I'm here. Also like the rustic atmosphere, Oh the frits are REAL fresh cut while you are there., unnecessary to say they taste better than they should because I tend to eat ALL.
Absolutely fabulous!! Had a cheezy beef with hot peppers. It was steaming hot, bread was fresh and service was quick! I would highly recommend them! They have a limited menu but I think that gives them more time to concentrate on the great food they already have on the menu.
