This restaurant has deteriorated significantly since the new owners took over. The serving staff is lazy and clumsy, resulting in slow service. Requesting more bread took 15 minutes, causing the cooked Brie to turn hard. The shared steak was lukewarm and the triple cooked potatoes were hard. Despite being a longtime patron, I will not be returning after my recent disappointing experiences.
We were very disappointed with the inexperienced service, which was actually our own fault. Our food was very dry, but that was because of our choices. To make matters worse, someone pretended to be us and took our table, and we were informed about this. It's a shame because this restaurant had the potential to be so much better.
Service was poor staff inexperienced food was late had to look after own drinks. Was a great shame as go there regularly and is always good.£250 bill wasn’t worth it . When hubby approached manager no compensation was agreed deeply saddened as is on my door step and sadly won’t be returning.

I recommend adding more vegetables and reducing the amount of potatoes. The risotto balls were slightly lacking in flavor. It would be convenient to have more space in the booths for coats and bags.
excellent eating, ambiente and service. there are many beautiful restaurants in reading, but this is very special. in any case worth a visit. a little expensive.
Food is expensive but very good qualityI've been there twice and had tuna wasabi and duck salad for starters, belly pork and partridge for main.
