For the first time my wife and I experienced the Italian ristorante Bella Roma, this last Valentine?s Day. We had searched hard for a place to go for a great steak, and the local steakhouses didn?t have great reviews, so we opted for Bella Roma, and chose the 4 course meal for two! We ate at BR last night, reservation at 6:30. We ordered nice wine they didn't have, but their substitution was very good. Each of us 4 ordered an app to share, a salad and a duck. They were understated. While our server was charming, she constantly apologized for the slow portioning of our wine and food courses. Apps were really good. Salads were fine. I'm just in Helena for a few weeks and let me tell you from someone born and raised in Italy, here you need to go for authentic Italian cuisine. The owners are very nice and welcoming, just like the staff! The food is just like what I would find home, and the ingredients are extremely fresh. I ordered a caprese to begin, the balsamic vinegar and oil were extremely tasty and so was the side of the Focaccia. It's my first time here and I'm impressed! It's like being in Rome, with its ambience. Our server was awesome ! I wished I remember his name...he was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable with food served. The seafood ravioli was exceptionally awesome and delicious. Kudos to our Chef and all the Staff.
