I ordered a veggie burger from this shop tonight. I requested half the normal sweet chili sauce. And to make sure they didn't forget I repeated my request after I payed for the order. Pretty simple request right? Wrong. I got home and the burger had the normal amount of sauce which duly leaked out over my chips. For me it ruined the burger. But to be fair I called them to pass on my feedback. A young guy answered the phone. He passed on my feedback to the Manager who I heard say rather defensively in the background "So what does he want us to do??". The young guy came back to the phone & gave me a half hearted apology & dismissively told me "mistakes happen you know". I gave him a few moment...
At last I have found an institution that offers great value, good service and wonderful fish and chips! With an eye on my waistline they also serve brown rice instead of chips if you want, as well as a choice of 4 fresh salads. And for $14.95 per head eat in with wine or beer extra or BYO really.....does it get any better. Always a pleasure to go and always made to feel welcome.
After so long we decided to try Beluga and only after our visit did we realize that we had been missing out. A great selection of fresh fish and salads with real knowledgeable staff. True pros. Can't wait to get their again. A little pricey but worth every cent. Has ample in seating inside and outside for those wishing to dine in. Would strongly recommend you dine in.
My family and I have been going here since it opened and it is brilliant. A family run business that offers great food, great service and always a hello and smile. The salmon is devine with the brown rice and Greek salad. The chips are the best and so is the flake. We have never had a bad meal here and neither will you. Eat in or on the street and you will enjoy it.

This has been my go to local fish and chip shop. From day one the quality and freshness has been A1. They have a fabulous range of fish and option packs. Chips are usually nice a crisp( not last time) portions are generous. Oils are kept fresh no smelly fats. South Yarra institution...
Beluga is our favourite spot for fish and chips in South Yarra. There's not a huge amount of seating but if you can't find a seat inside there's a few tables outside, or grab takeaway and go to Fawkner park. We especially love the shark pack and I recommend getting the grilled fish.
The absolute only place in Melbourne for fish and chips. Fresh salads , wonderful choice if fresh fish and a wine to boot. Always busy but a testament to great service and food.
Very busy always a good sign the product is good. You can eat in or takeaway. While your waiting you can have a complimentary glass of lemon water.

I am a regular at the Port Melbourne outlet. Although not as many options as Hunky Dory, I find the food here to always be fresh and tasty.
The first time we had fish in chips there it was a amazing. Sadly this time round the fish wasn't very nice and it tasted very flourey.
