Updating my previous review. I just want to say that, several months after my first visit to Bengali, I think I was unfair to note that, even though I liked this restaurant a lot, the food was not as tasty and a little more oily than the place a few doors down. I must have hit it on an off day or two, because it has since become the hands down favorite Indian restaurant of both myself and my wife. The $6.95 weekend buffet (served 11am to 4pm) is addictive. Not only is the food pure vegetarian and delicious, but the selection always varies and the value is unbeatable. I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant and I am NOT one of the owners or family with any of the owners or frien...

Loved It!. Went here today after trying almost all of the Indian restaurants in Hicksville, and I have to say that their paranthas and chaats top all. With the paranthas made to order, waiting is perfectly fine cause they are so worth it. Probably the biggest parantha I have ever seen, and it lasts the whole day. With over 15 different varities of paranths, you can ever get bored, and they are always so delicious. The sweets are also amazingly fresh and balanced, while not being too sweet. This is now my favorite Indian restaurant around here and im definitely coming back

I visited this place with a friend of mine, as we were eating badly for parathas. Since he was regularly to this place, he wanted to take me. We ordered Paneer paratha and it was quietly good. A well-filled paratha crispy top and nicely balanced on spices. I like it. Next was the Chole feature and to my astonishment it was wonderful. I didn't think it was good enough, but cholesterol was cooked nicely and it wasn't less than what we have in India. Also this shop has varieties of candy and I would like to visit it again before I taste the candy.

This place is a five. I don't want to give them a five but they earned it. This 5 stars means alot, just on the simple fact that in this competitive Desi neighborhood of restaurants. All the Desi people say this one is the best place. Anyone have any legitimate competition for this place? The selection, the cleanliness, the taste, the service, all top notch for the community. Maybe, just maybe, Im wrong. If, by some stretch of the imagination, you know any better places with this style food around Hix please, let me know! Book a table now

Nice place. Variety of food available. People were very good as they allowed us to have our dog in the apartment. Food is good, but not great. Especially the chats weren't so tasty we tried 2 different varieties that almost tasted the same. Kachori sabzi were good, but the authentic Bengali taste was missing. Chhole-Bhature were tasty, but prefer when something less oily. Thandai was delicious, but Falooda was great. Moderate price. But serving speed is really slow.

Love the mithai ? however, they don?t tare the containers in my experience. Each container is probably around an ounce, and since their products are priced at $15/lb, it adds up pretty quickly. If you buy mithai, just know that it will end up costing a little over $2/piece since you?re also paying for the weight of each container. In my opinion, although their products are good, I don?t think they?re worth purchasing their containers at $15/lb for.

Visited this place on Sunday morning! As I believed to have Indian Samosas and Bhaijiyas. The Samosas were pretty okay, but the Bhaijiyas I ordered were not well done. I could feel the dough in it and so I told the owner of it and she asked me if I wanted to return, but I didn't want to do that. In the end, I had a Gulab Jamun that I felt happy with.

Does not have any Bengali sweets or food in my experience. Sweet is bang on average or below, price is too high and doesn?t make any sense. Prices are not written, so if you don?t ask the price beforehand, brace for surprise!
