Let's go back in time in the 70's when Montreal had many of these Japanese steak houses..before the sushi invasion.Kyoto,Kobe and other steakhouses welcomed customers to a new way to cook and present steak, chicken and seafood. If you were lucky, the chef at your table would juggle his knives and salt and pepper shakers in front of wide eyed customers..wow what a show.Well since vintage is in style right now,why not go back to your childhood and try this old fashion japanese steak house. The service, food and chef was great...the show at the table was a mix of music, fire and funny jokes..I felt like i was back in the 70's...The whole family had a great time..Domo Arigato...

We had dinner at Beni Hana on Wednesday night. The ambience at this location was great - looks upscale with a fun atmosphere. There are two levels and while the lower level was busy, we were seated right away.Compared to the Benihana's in the US- The food portions are larger- Fried rice is included ( usually an up-sell in the US)- Same extensive menu for teppanyaki and sushi.Service was really great. Chef did a really good job.Fun experience, and better value than in the US.Would definitely recommend.
We were invited with a large group of friends to this long established Japanese steakhouse and the experience was very good. From the starter soup to the accompanying vegetables to the main course, everything was tasty with not too much salt. The shrimps and the Angus beef were particularly good. The cook puts on a humorous show. Prices are on the higher side and be warned to check that you are not charged for no-shows as there seemed to be a dispute regarding this. Overall worth the experience.
We visited this restaurant as a family. We got a teppanyaki table which was a lot of fun. The food was prepared by an entertaining chef and was as good as we expected. Any critique I have is that the restaurant is a little tired and needs to be neatened up a little. As I mentioned "it delivered its expectations " but not a memorable place, but nice if you have a party of 5-10 people! From a cost point of view it's not bad value at about CAD45 per head. I love teppanyaki and Beni Hana in Montreal does it right. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and utterly unflappable in the face of big, hungry crowds. It's like dinner and a show, the pacing is perfect from soup to salad to entrees and desserts. Be sure to make a reservation if you're planning on coming to Beni Hana - the place was pretty packed on a Saturday evening.
I got very sick on the food here.I'm positive that the food here is stale.I went to this restaurant for the very first time to try it out and got sick on it plus the waitress asked me for a tip when I gave her one she said that's it where my tip? and I left her a 20% tip.
Nice atmosphere , very good service and staff , good fresh food, clean place, the cook was not the most energetic that night , some other were more interactive but he was good . will go back , mi son really enjoy the big fire and food
They were incredibly accommodating. I was very impressed at how they handled my shrimp allergy. The show that the chef put on was both fun and entertaining. The food was cooked perfectly and uber delicious. Book a table now
Good food. Ordered shrimp and scallops combo and the chef did a great job. Fried rice was delicious. We even got fried noodles at the end with bean sprouts. What a surprise. Definitely will go back.
Food was great and the chef did an amazing job, for sure I'll go there again plus the coconut shrimp with the plum sauce is to die for.
