We were attending a nearby local theatre and needed a meal beforehand. We decided on a fish and chip shop within Benowa Gardens arcade. We had heard very good reports and without hesitation we agree that although only having ordered NZ Hoki it tasted the...best in quite a while. We sat outside on the tables and chairs provided to enjoy our meal. There beside us were two gentlemen who had set up their table for fine dining with the works. This they did quite often at their favourite fish and chip shop and suggested next time we try the snapper.

Fresh fish was excellent but overpriced. Chips the old school large and soggy style that were not cooked well. Busy at the time, but certainly not best on the coast as per another reviewer. Staff were helpful and quite fast service, just not as good...as I was expecting plus too expensive for what it was- disappointed.
Have been getting seafood from Benowa Garden's Seafood for several years. The freshest fish, batter is perfect! I've lived all over Asia, Europe and Oz- I've never, EVER had seafood as good as this anywhere else! Prices are cheap, service great- and the food.. oh...the food!

The shrimp was completely frozen and the food seemed to be of Asian origin. The rude staff provided bad service, the fish had a sour odor, and the chips were soft. I will not be returning to this restaurant.
Great choice of seafood and very fresh . Fish Always filleted perfectly - all in all delicious. Staff are always helpful and friendly . Shop is very clean and tidy .

Fish was fresh and batter nice- chips were perfect and not too greasy- shame they didn't have curry sauce or mushy peas. convenient spot with easy parking.

Love the food here. The potato cakes are the BEST. Good as Melbournes. The chips are crunchy and tasty. Fish always looks and tastes fresh. Yum
