I stay in town a fair bit, always looking for new places to eat. Had some colleagues end up here and they were singing its praises so we joined.Showed up for $5 happy hour, which was a nice treat. Drinks aren't too bad after it ends, but the savings was nice.Prices on the menu are noticeably varied. You either order a $12 dish or a $37 dish. I'd suggest looking online before showing up. I ended up going high end - my ribeye steak was delicious. The coconut fish that showed up across the table also looked delicious.Overall, know what you're getting into. Quality was great, but it can be expensive meal. Also you may need to make a reservation - we were given a time limit since we didn't plan a...

I need to revise my rating. Several months ago I had a great experience. This morning less so. I sat on the patio full of optimism for my brunch, hopefully a repeat experience since last time. I was left unattended for about 15 min, then once I ordered it was another 37min to get my breakfast. I felt unattended to at the back of the patio and it was almost an hour before I received my food. This time the experience did not leave me with the same satisfaction as previously. Previous review “superb eggs Benedict, generous portion of ham, medium eggs served hot, real hollandaise made with butter. Customer service was exceptional also. Ill be back.”

I've been here three times. once for brunch, where I had the British filled French toast. Very good. another time I tried the deenburger. juicy and delish, the orange cream cheese accompanied it perfectly. my third time to eat there, my friend and I shared a series of maple bacon mussels. and they were amazing delish! we would have drunk the muschel broth from a cup. after the mosquitoes we ordered a small dish meal, I had the deep fried mozzarella, and my friend had surfing and shaking, we tried and were quite happy. Even with a small dish we were both stuffed on the crows. I couldn't stop talking about eating all night.

Wednesday night, family of 3. Two starters plus burger, steak and lamb shank, 4 glasses of wine and a lemonade cocktail - total close to $200 with 15% tip. Lackluster service, very slow with drinks even though 3/4 empty. Lamb and burger were passable but steak was mediocre. Asked for sauce on the side but was on top and overpowering. Steak was otherwise tough and tasteless. Asparagus wrapped in prosciutto side with steak and lamb was dry and tasteless suggesting multiple reheatings. Calamari starter was not local - seem to be from pre-prepared frozen product. Atmosphere was somewhat dingy. Book a table now

BS (unfortunate!) has several daily specials at a very good value. Their Stanley burger is truly excellent as are their mussels. I was fortunate enough to be there when they were offering a duck breast over salad. Delicious. Good, reasonably priced wine list and they also feature a number of cocktails made with NL bitters. Would recommend a reservation as they get very busy, especially on weekends.

We live on the West Coast of Canada and had been waiting for our trip to St. John's to try Bernard Stanley. We were not disappointed! Our table had a mix of brunch and lunch items, and washed them down with the $5 Caesar special of the day. Great great food and a very cool venue. Must also add we had amazing service as well (shoutout to Amberlynn)! Give this place a try next time you're in town!

We picked this place on a Wednesday evening after just getting into town. Took a look at reviews and saw this place was a stone's throw for us and went there. I ended up having the Kale Caesar and the Bernard burger. Without question that...burger is the best I have ever had. Great service, excellent location. All around awesome for me and my family.

had the vegan queen, vegan queen and big guacamole. for the price was the portion small, but the food was good. the eating of my companion was burned and not well cooked. it was also busy and hard to get a table. while it was refreshing to see the choices on the table and eating well tasted, the small portion size was small for the price Book a table now

The burgers, sandwiches, and fish & chips were all fantastic. The draft beer was very yummy. The servers were very friendly, and the restaurant was super clean.
