The food at this restaurant is average. The service could use some improvement. There was no greeting, no smiling, and minimal interaction from the staff. It's important to treat customers with respect in order to keep them coming back. I used to frequent this place years ago and the staff would always greet me warmly and ask what I would like. However, during my recent visit, I felt like I was inconveniencing the staff. I will not be returning and would not recommend this restaurant.
I have been going to the big Q for years ,I have tried other fish and chip shops but none come a close second to the Big Q.you may have to Que up for a while but its well worth the wait as many locals will tell you.Friendly service at a fair price.I must say I have a bias opinion of the Big Q because all my family and myself actually love the Big Q.
I have used this chippy years. Over the last few months the quality has Been declining Today the fish and chips I got were uneatable. I was offered free food on my next visit but I feel the staff must have known how dry and stale the fish was and therefore should not have served it, so I will not be going back again.
Best chips I've tasted locally, Really generous portions and always hot and perfectly fried. I can't comment on the fish as I'm gluten intolerant so hoping a gluten free batter become available one day fingers crossed : Book a table now
First visit as other chip shop has been demolished. Warm chips, fish pretty tasteless. Cash only , no fish ready so have to wait for the frozen fish to be taken out of the bag!! No wonder it’s empty, never again.
We take our fish and chips seriously in the UK. It has to be right. Good fresh fish , Nice chips. . This place is the best chip shop in Basildon. May it long continue.
This is the best fish and chip shop in the area. I have never had any complaints. The staff are funny, the portions are large, and the prices are very good value.
